LCK Spring Split Descends into Chaos: Marathon of Pauses and Network Woes Grips Teams and Fans for Over 6 Hours!
Bogdan LashchenkoThe LCK Spring Split encountered a marathon of disruptions, lasting over 6 hours, during what was supposed to be a routine broadcast day. The chaos began with the DRX vs. DK game, where a ping issue initiated the first pause lasting 10 minutes. However, what followed was a series of setbacks escalating quickly. The second pause occurred within 10 minutes, extending to 20 minutes. The third pause, a significant 40-minute delay, marked a turning point, making the first match alone exceed 2 hours.
Hopes for resolution were dashed as network and ping issues resurfaced early in the second game, causing a staggering interruption of 2.5 hours. Riot Korea contemplated postponing the entire day, yet the series persisted, concluding at 21:45 KST, well beyond the scheduled cut-off of 19:30 KST.
Given the unprecedented delays, the LCK decided to defer the second match between BRO and KDF. The rescheduled date will be determined following the official rulebook, with ticket holders eligible for refunds and attendance at the new schedule.
Organizers acknowledged the issues, attributing them to "chronic ping," a recurring problem during the games. Despite playing on an internal network, the source of these persistent problems remains unclear. As the community awaits further insights, the LCK is likely to undergo adjustments in its upcoming schedule.
