Digest: LEC Summer 2022 for 18.06
lieGreetings to all fans of eSports and League of Legends in particular! This will be the first material in a series of digests on the summer split from Europe -LECSummer 2022. The Continental League is now taking over the world in its semi-annual cycle, with many teams competing within their home regions. And if you didn’t have time to watch the games yourself, this is a good opportunity to quickly and in detail learn about the details!
Briefly about the tournament itself. The LEC Summer 2022 summer split is the main event in Europe and the second and final split of each esports season (year) for League of Legends. 10 teams from all over the continent are fighting for a prize of €200,000 EUR and, most importantly, access to the Worlds 2022. By the way, unlike in Asia, three of the best, and not just one, European teams will have the opportunity to play at this year's Worlds. The group stage will last 8 in-game weeks, until August 14, and all matches will be in Bo1 format. Games are played on patch 12.11, however, the champion that was introduced with this update, Bel'Vet, is disabled.
Matches of the second day of LEC Summer 2022
AST vs BDS
The second day of the tournament, like the first one, started again with the loss of the match favorite represented by Team BDS. We saw a pretty clean 30-minute map by Astralis, where they took a late game pick, which they executed beautifully. A lot of farming, objects and map control led to the fact that for the whole game they ended with a score of 12:4 in their favor and a 10k gold refarm.
SK vs MAD
Two equal teams that finished the previous split in adjacent positions on the leaderboard and a difference of two games. But now the "lions" show fangs and for the second match in a row they play from a position of complete domination. The score is 2:15 in kills, all 4 dragons are in the MAD Lions team. Bravo and I hope to see such a great game from them in the future!
VIT vs MSF
Again a one-sided game, again the underdog's victory, again the defeat of Misfits Gaming. Yes, yesterday the top 3 - 4 team lost to zero and was crushed by the guys from their XL, but this time they met with another team nominally weaker than them and lost. Team Vitality bounced back after the first day and reached the score 1-1 in meetings. A good pick from MSF, but a great game from mid-laner Perkz and roams of a low-mobility support with the help of a jungler did not give life to the opponent's mid-laner. Score 23:5 in favor of VIT in 28 minutes of play.
FNC vs XL
Excel continue their winning streak against Fnatic as well! During the break, the team, which barely made it to the playoffs in the spring, rallied their strength and demonstrates excellent team coordination. A good draft from both sides, equal game on objects, review. But team shifts and map pressure were much stronger for XL than they crushed the more experienced and successful FNC. A good 30-minute map with a final score of 20:6.
G2 vs RGE
The closing and sweetest match of the day with G2, which did not disappoint. I am sure that G2 pleased many with such an unusual draft, where there were two brothers at once: Yasuo and Yone, and even Svein as a farming support with Senna. BrokenBlade and Jankos choked poor Odoamne on Orne while botlane didn't know what to do with Targamas' sustain. G2 did not pay so much attention to the view and objects, but showed a dynamic and aggressive game with a lot of brazen decisions. 26 minutes with a score of 20:7. And for his excellent overclocking of the map on the jungler, the old man Jankos received his MVP.
