Today is a significant day for lovers of quality League of Legends. It is today that the confrontations of the summer split of the main European league in LoL, LEC Summer 2022, will start.
In the debut duel, Team Vitality and MAD Lions will face each other. This split promises to be especially interesting as G2 Esports aim to break the record for the most victories in the LoL European Championship. The title of the most titled team is currently held by Fnatic, who have six victories in European leagues. After G2 Esports became the winners of the LEC Spring 2022, Jankos and his teammates are ready to fight Fnatic for the title of the first team that will manage to achieve seven LoL European Championship victories.
LEC Summer 2022 starts today, and when it ends is currently unknown. The league's total prize pool will be €200,000. It will be distributed among the six best participants. The top 3 teams of the event will earn €80,000, €50,000 and €30,000 rewards respectively. In addition, the top three will receive invitations to the 2022 World Championship, the premier annual League of Legends event worldwide. The teams that will be on the 4th line in the standings will earn €20,000, and the 5th-6th places will receive €12,500 and €7,500 respectively.
