Let's return to America, because today the battle between the academies of major League of Legends teams for small prize money and a place at the LCS Proving Grounds of the new season will begin here.

Following the LCS Lock-In 2022 Pre-Season Tournament, a tournament for the academies of the same 10 organizations followed. That is, the participating teams have long been known to us from the main league of the LCS.

This time everything will be the same as before. The total prize pool is $25,000 USD, of which the winner will take $10,000 USD. The best 6 teams immediately go to the playoffs of the LCS Spring Proving Grounds 2022. The remaining 4 teams from the bottom of the standings will also go to the LCS Spring Proving Grounds 2022, but only in the qualifications.

Tournament rules and match format

According to the classics of the American League of Legends, for academic squads, all matches of the group stage will be held in a bo2 format, so you can expect a lot of draws in advance. The main task of the players is to score as many points as possible so as not to fall into the bottom four.

The playoffs will be held entirely in the bo5 format. The organizers of the LCS Academy Spring have not yet given official confirmation of this information, but based on the experience of previous tournaments, we can say that it will most likely be so.

Tournament participants

  • 100 Thieves Academy
  • Cloud9 Academy
  • Fly Quest Academy
  • Golden Guardian Academy
  • TSM Academy
  • Team Liquid Academy
  • Counter Logic Gaming Academy
  • Dignitas Academy
  • Evil Genius Academy
  • Immortals Academy

The list of academies has not changed at all since last year. Here's what not to take away from America - the stability of their organizations mastodons eSports.

I believe that even the nominal favorites have not changed in any way since the end of the academic league at the end of last year's season.
