LCS 2022 Lock-In kicks off in America

Add as a Preferred Source

Following the series of tournaments that covered Asia and Europe in the new season of the professional League of Legends scene, America's turn came. LCS 2022 Lock-In begins tonight.

This is not the main split of this spring, LCS Spring 2022 will start only at the beginning of next month, and for now we have only a pre-season tournament to warm up. All the same teams will participate in it as in the LCS, and the prize pool is very decent, in comparison with the main event.

What people always care about is money. $ 150,000 will be drawn at LCS Lock-In, and this entire amount will go to the sole winner! This is almost double the prize money for the first place at the LEC Spring 2022 European Split.

Preseason Rules

Since this is not even close to the main split, then, as with the division of the prize money, the rules for holding matches are also different here, and quite strongly.

Initially, we created two groups of five teams each. The division began with the fact that they threw the best two best teams in America from LCS Summer 2021 into different groups, so that the same "death group" would not come out. Then it was up to the classic shuffle.

The group stage will last from 14 to 21 January, exactly one week. Each of the teams will play four times in Bo1 format. Based on group points, the best four teams from each group will advance to the playoffs. That is, during the groups, only two outsiders will be eliminated.

Next, we will see the classic grid, no losers. Lost - dropped out.

In the playoffs, matches will also be in Bo1 format.

Quarterfinals in Bo3 format.

Semi-finals and grand final in Bo5 format.
