What is Demacia Cup?

Demacia Cup 2021 is a top-tier League of Legends tournament besides the LoL Pro League in China, which gives teams a good chance to test their lineups. This time, the Demacian Cup is held after a period of perpetual transfers and roster updates, and therefore will become an arena for new rosters for each team. After all, everyone is interested in what the teams' performances and results will be after the roster change. Meanwhile, teams and players can change their status to become the best before the 2022 main season.

This time, only 24 teams from the Middle Kingdom are waiting for us:

  • 17 teams from the LPL 2021 Spring - that is, the top Chinese league.
  • The 3 teams from LDL 2021 Spring is a rookie league in China that aims to pave the way for young and ambitious LPL players.
  • 4 amateur teams that have proven themselves in some way.

Dynamic tournament format

  • Classic 4 groups of 5 teams based on the results of the draw. However, there is only one winner in each of the groups, and the Bo1 format gives the dynamics. There is no room for error!
  • The winners of the groups in the playoffs are already awaiting the colossus of the Chinese League - the top 4 teams with LPL. This year we will see: Royal Never Give Up, Edward Gaming, FunPlus Phoenix and LNG Esports. And already in the playoffs, all matches will be played in Bo5, without any loser nets.

What will be interesting?

Unfortunately, EDG will not be able to see the championship roster. The guys from Edward Gaming decided to try out their reserve roster. Perhaps they do not want to reveal the strength of the main one.

And although many top teams decided not to reveal all their trump cards, this does not apply to FPX and LNG. Completely new lineups ready for battle.

Moreover, this will mark the debut of Doinb, the former FPX star mid-laner, but already in his new team - LNG. Both teams are close in the nets and there is a good chance that we will see them fight in the semifinals. Doinb versus his former team, where he was replaced by ex-T1 player Gori. Ironically, we can witness the veracity of the famous quote from the Celestial Empire: "Know the enemy and know yourself: and you will not be defeated in a thousand battles."
