Dota 2 Champions League 2021: the semi-finalists of the upper bracket have been determined
Ihor MatusThe first four matches have come to an end. If you missed these events, then we are ready to briefly tell you about the past meetings.
How did the matches go?
In the debut confrontation, the Hellbear Smashers and Chicken Fighters fought against each other. On the first map, the Chicken Fighters decided to play a long match and took Medusa and Ember Spirit. Their bet on these heroes played out and the map lasted 45 minutes and ended in favor of Era and his teammates. On the second map, Medusa was unable to help the players from the Chicken Fighters and their opponents played a fairly tempo map and won it in 27 minutes. On the third map, the Hellbear Smashers were able to confirm their status as the tournament favorite and finished the fight on the third map in 31 minutes. The Chicken Fighters dropped to the bottom bracket and the Hellbear Smashers advanced to the next round.
In the second match, PuckChamp and Team Spirit played against each other. There, on the first map, PuckChamp decided to approach the game in a not quite standard way and took Techies for themselves. Their tactics did not work, and Team Spirit eventually took the first map for themselves in 32 minutes. In the second case, the case went according to a slightly different scenario. PuckChamp turned to more meta heroes and took over Shadow Demon, Luna, Pangolier, Hoodwink and Razor. Team Spirit responded with heroes like Lina, Lion, Sand King, Drow Ranger and Rubick. As a result, the second map lasted a very long time, and Spirit finally completed it in 55 minutes in their favor. This match formed the first pair in the upper bracket (Hellbear Smashers vs Team Spirit) and the first pair in the lower bracket (Chicken Fighters vs PuckChamp). We remind you that Team Spirit received a special invitation from the organizers, which allowed them to skip the group stage. After this fight, we were able to see that the choice fell on this team for a reason.
Team Unique and Nemiga Gaming met face to face for reaching the semifinals of the upper bracket in the third fight. Unique managed to gain the upper hand on both maps. They sent the first one to their piggy bank in 36 minutes, and the second in 58.
In the last match of the last gaming day, V-Gaming fought against Tundra Esports. The latter managed to pick up two fairly fast cards, which were completed in 35 and 38 minutes. They, just like Team Spirit, received a direct invite to the playoffs and missed the group stage. At the end of the fourth meeting, two more pairs were formed. In the upper bracket, Team Unique will compete with Tundra Esports for reaching the final of the upper bracket, and in the lower bracket, Nemiga Gaming will fight with V-Gaming for the right to further participate in this championship.
