
Aurora defeated Wildcard 2:0 in the group stage of The International 2025
On September 4, the biggest Dota 2 tournament of the year — The International 2025 — officially kicked off. In the second round of the group stage, Aurora Gaming confidently defeated Wildcard 2:0, making an important step towards reaching the upper bracket of the playoffs.
First map
The opening map started without much aggression from either side. By the 6th minute, Wildcard’s RCY went for an aggressive play in the middle lane, securing first blood for his team. It seemed like this small advantage could positively affect the game’s outcome. However, in the following clashes Aurora completely took over. The game ended at the 30-minute mark with a score of 33-7 in Aurora Gaming’s favor. Nightfall on Ursa and kiyotaka on Ember Spirit stood out, combining for 23 kills.
Second map
In the second game, Wildcard showed that they were not ready to give up without a fight. The match lasted 45 minutes and ended 27-20 in favor of Aurora. Kiyotaka delivered an outstanding performance on Shadow Fiend, making a crucial contribution to the victory and finishing with a 15/3/10 scoreline.
Team standings
With this win, Aurora Gaming improved their position, moving forward in the group stage with a 1-1 record, while Wildcard found themselves in a dangerous spot at 0-2, where every next loss could cost them their place in the tournament. The International 2025 is the most prestigious Dota 2 event, organized by Valve. The starting prize pool of The International is $1,600,000, with the rest funded through in-game purchases.
