Talented Ukrainian phrases made it to the top 30 caster lines of The International 2022. There were no Russian-speakers there
Ihor MatusOne of the Dota 2 players decided to analyze the most popular phrases of the casters who will work on The International 2022 coverage. He compiled the top 30 lines that are constantly used in the game. For a more or less objective calculation, he analyzed 2,000 random games and shared the results on the reddit forum.
The top 3 were Mira 'Ephey' Riyadh, Jake 'SirActionSlacks' Kanner and Sun 'Sccc' Chun. The Ukrainian replicas of Artur 'Goblak' Kostenko and Alexey 'Bafik' Bafadarov took 16th and 29th places respectively. Users loved the replica “Do you need my help? I’m already running.” performed by Artur Kostenko and “Tse base. Tse foundation. Tse Grunt.” from Alexey Bafadarov.
All other cues are from English or Chinese casters. There was not a single Russian-language phrase in the top 30, although the number of representatives of this language is 36 people.
Valve added voice phrases and stickers from The International 2022 lighting studio to Dota 2. After that, a scandal arose involving Dmitry 'finargot' Plyusnin. The latter spoke negatively against Ukraine on Twitter. As a result, he deleted his page on this social network to hide from the massive hate, and PGL, who organize the championship, removed him from the list of participants.
