Alliance withdrew from Dota 2 Champions League Season 8
/The Swedish esports organization Alliance has decided to withdraw from Dota 2 Champions League Season 8. The club explained its decision by the ongoing war in Ukraine. Note that the championship is organized by Epic Esports Events, owned by the Russian holding ESforce.
The organization issued an official statement on social networks, supporting the people of Ukraine and calling for an end to hostilities in the country.
Alliance is being removed from Dota 2 Champions League Season 8 and the changes will take effect immediately. We can no longer participate in this tournament due to the ongoing war in Ukraine and Putin's unacceptable aggression towards the Ukrainian people. Thanks for understanding.
Recall that Dota 2 Champions League Season 8 started on February 22. The Alliance team took part in four matches, getting only one victory over cybercats (2:1). It is reported that in the remaining matches the team was awarded a forfeit defeat.
The next championship for Alliance will be DPC WEU 2021/2022 Tour 2: Division II, which will be held online from March 14 to April 20.
