Welcome to EGamersWorld.
We continue to watch the action at BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 Stage 2. With 16 clubs playing for 8 slots in Stage 2, we're now in Stage 3.
We continue our betting tips series on Stage 2, and in our particular case, the teams OG and Vp. These teams will open their Stage 2 journey with a face-to-face match.
Let's try to make an accurate betting tip that will help you make the right choice in the OG vs Vp match.
How the bookies view it: OG favourite
Let's start betting tip for the match OG - Vp with determining the favourite of the series. OG is the favourite here and it is quite unexpected. At least for me it is unexpected.
Bookmakers give an average odds of around 1.6 on the victory of OG. Those OG, who have not actually surfaced all season, and last season too, are now favourites in a match against by no means the worst team of the stage. Let's watch.
OG form. What result can be expected from OG
Before IEM Cologne 2023, OG failed miserably in the last chance qualification at Gamers8 and also finished top-12 at BLAST Premier: Fall 2023 Groups.
- OG roster: F1KU, ChBr1Zn, Buzz, Spooke, nicodoz.
Recent replacements in the form of FASHR, k1to and Regali joining the team a month ago are still not paying off. The Frenchman and the German have ratings below 0.89 and 0.94 and this is the worst among the team, which, however, does not shine with bright personalities.
Despite the dismal statistics of the players in recent months, in the first match against 9INE OG looked good, although they failed to get the win. They lost to the Poles on Overpass with a score of 17-19.
Cologne itself did not end well for the Europeans. OG lost to NaVi in the last chance set, and then prematurely left the championship.
After failing at a major event, OG took to playing everything. Mostly small tournaments: CCT Online Finals #2, CCT East Europe Series #1, Pinnacle Cup V, qualifiers for IEM Sydney 2023, Thunderpick World Championship 2023: European Series #2, and CCT Online Finals #3 with BLAST Premier: Fall European Showdown 2023 and CCT North Europe Series #8. I purposely didn't separate
these andVent and lumped them together, as everywhere on them OG dissolved. In the best case it was TOP-6, like at the qualifiers for IEM Sydney, and on average - TOP-8.
They also played at Roobet Cup 2023 where the team finished top-12. This was followed by the BLAST Premier: World Final 2022 where the OGs pleasantly surprised by reaching the Top 4.
In the 2024 season, there were no high-profile results like Top 4 at BLAST Premier: World Final 2023. The maximum heights were Top 4 BLAST Premier: Spring Showdown 2024 and Top 4 at BLAST Premier: Fall Showdown 2024. There were also lower class tournaments like Fall Groups 2024 with a top-8 and Thunderpick World Championship 2024: European Series #2.
We played Thunderpick World Championship 2024, where we finished in the top 4. This was just about the best result of the 2024 season.
In the 2025 season, OG continued to find themselves, as they call it. Among the landmark results, except for the victory at CCT Season 2 European Series #20.
BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 was held thanks to the victory at the European Qualification. Long Sogpeg started the tournament with a 13-3 win against CoL, but then lost to B8 in a 2-0 shutout. After the loss from B8, OG took the next two series against Tyloo and NRG, thus advancing to Stage 2.
Vp form. What result can be expected from Virtus.pro
We continue our match analysis and our betting prediction with an analysis of Vp form. They are number two here.
At the beginning of last year Vp played in three TIR-A tournaments. These were BB Playlist. Urbanistic, BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023: European RMR A, and also BB Playlist. Freeddom. At the two "home" championships from BB Vp made it to the top 8, but at the European RMR everything was even less happy - top 14.
Then Vp made a breakthrough by winning at ESL Challenger Katowice 2023. The victory there allowed them to qualify for ESL Pro League Season 18.
Among the victories, CCT Online Finals #2 is also worth mentioning. They beat Team Spirit in the grand finals and earned $100,000, which is pretty good.
- Vp lineup: Jame, FL1T, fame, n0rb3r7, electronic.
Before ESL Pro League Season 18 Vp visited Gamers8, where they didn't get further than the top 8, and Dunav Party LAN, where in the grand finals they got revenge for their defeat at CCT by Spirit.
In the first match at EPL Season 18, Vp's opponent was Team Liquid. The match, as expected, ended in a full-fledged, combative Bo3 with Vp winning 2-1.
Next up, VP played G2 Esports and legitimately Ledgeili, though they fought back and took the map. The defeat sent Vp to the lower grid, where they first beat Eternal Fire and then outplayed Liquid again, thus reaching the EPL play-offs.
Vp did not manage to play in the main stage. Vp lost their first match against 9z Team, which was a rather unexpected result. At the end of the EPL S18 Vp finished in the top 16.
Things are going well at the Roobet Cup. Vp won the first match against their compatriots from Spirit with a score of 2-1. Next up was a battle with Movistar Riders to qualify for the Roobet Cup 2023 play-offs, which ended 2-0 in favour of Vp, a solid 2-0.
The Roobet Cup 2023 itself was the pulse of Vp's triumph. They beat Monte 2-1 in the grand final, earning their first major win in a long time. Later was Thunderpick World Championship 2023, where Vp also reached the final, but failed to beat FaZe and as a result - 0-2.
Before playing at BB Dacha Vp played at ESL Challenger Winter. There they reached the top 4, losing in the semi-finals to the future champions from Monte. BB Dacha itself was a very successful event for Vp: there they reached the finals and lost to Spirit 2-3 in a close series.
Just before the BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2024, where Vp were partnered with BLAST, they played the ESL Challenger at DreamHack Atlanta 2023, where they won the championship, beating Apeks 2-0 in the grand finals.
On their way to the Group D finals, Virtus.pro defeated BIG and Cloud9. The former with a 2-0 score, the latter with a 2-1 score. In the grand final of their group at BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2024, Vp beat BIG again and again with a score of 2-0, thus earning themselves a place at the spring finals. Next up was IEM Katowice 2024, where Vp failed, finishing in the top 20.
Vp made it to PGL CS 2 Major Copenhagen, finishing in the top 2 at PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: European RMR A. In addition, they made it to IEM Dallas 2024.
Directly at the World Championship Long Competed from the Elimination stage. First lost to Imperia, but then beat paiN and Heroic, which brought them to 2-1. Next, they lost to Eternal Fire and G2 Esports, which led to Vp's elimination from the Major tournament.
IEM China 2024 Vp are doing quite well. In the top set of Group B, they took turns beating American teams Wildcard (13-1) and then FlyQuest (2-1). In the play-offs seeding match, Vp lost to the best team in the tournament, Astralis, 2-0.
In the main stage of IEM China 2024, Vp played against G2 Esports and lost, thus finishing in the top 6 of the tournament.
After the top 6 at IEM China 2024 Vp attended three more tournaments, two of which were very prestigious. Thus they played ESL Pro League Season 19 at TOP-8 and IEM Dallas 2024 at TOP-12, and in between they made it to the Top-6 at BB Dacha.
In Group B at BLAST Premier: Spring Finals 2024 Vp played to a top-3 finish, which got them into the playoffs. Next, they made it to the top 4, but there Ledgeili NaVi.
EWC Vp started with a match against Complexity Gaming, where they won 2-0. Making it to the play-offs the team faced Vitality and came out stronger, winning 2-1. Next up was a match against G2, a loss and top 4 in the end.
Vp played at BLAST Premier: Fall Groups 2024, where they failed miserably: top 16. Later, they "consolidated their success" at IEM Cologne 2024, making it to the Top 16. They also played at BLAST Premier: Fall Groups 2024, where they took TOP-4. Played at ESL Pro League S20, where they failed everywhere and everywhere, finishing the tournament in the top 16. They also played at Intel Extreme Masters Rio 2024, where they finished in the top 6.
In the 2025 season, Vp played in multiple title tournaments. They played at IEM Katowice, with top-6, PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025 with top-11, BLAST Open Spring 2025 and PGL Bucharest with top-8. There was also IEM Melbourne 2025 and PGL Astana 2025, where we took TOP-16 and TOP-11 respectively. Enough experience, no results.
Recent head to head: OG edging it out
The teams have played each other twice in the last year. However, the last time they played each other was in October 2024 and OG won that time.
Players to watch: nicodoz and FL1T
In this match I will be watching nicodoz and FL1T. Both players are the stars of their teams and will drag them to victory. Especially in The International it's interesting to watch nicodoz, who showed a tremendous result in Stage 1, and the match against CoL is the peak of his personal level. Let's see if the Dane is still going strong.

OG has the best results on Mirage, Vertigo and Ancient, with a win percentage above 60%. On Anubis and Inferno maps the team has average results with a win percentage of 50%. Nuke is a weak map for the team, with a win percentage of 0%. Overpass and Dust2 are not played by the team, probably due to frequent bans or insecurity on these maps.
Which maps does Vp pick and ban most often?
Best maps (Win Rate ≥ 60%)
Average (Win Rate 50-59%)
- Ancient - 58.1% wins
- Cobblestone - 57.3% wins
- Mirage - 56.5% wins
- Anubis - 55.6% wins
Worst maps (Win Rate < 50%)
- Vertigo - 47.3% wins. The team has difficulties on this map, which is reflected in the win percentage.
Strengths: Virtus.pro demonstrates strong play on Nuke, Ancient and Mirage maps, which makes them strong opponents on these maps.
Stable maps: Maps like Overpass, Inferno and Anubis show stable results, but there is potential for improvement.
Areas for improvement: Vertigo is the team's weakest area and needs more work to improve its performance.
Overall picture: Virtus.pro has a diverse map pool with several strong maps, which allows them to adapt to different opponents. However, working on their weaknesses, such as Vertigo, could significantly improve their competitiveness.
Predicted result of the match between OG - Vp at BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025
A lot of this matchup has a lot to do with the personal performance of the OG and Vp players. That, to me, is OG's strength, as we saw in Stage 1. We will expect OG to win, but bo1 is a slippery business.
Betting prediction: OG win.
