WePlay Academy League: VP.Prodigy обыграли Astralis Talent
Ihor MatusThe fifth game day within the second week of WePlay Academy League Season 1 has come to an end. We could observe several interesting and somewhat unpredictable outcomes of the past meetings.
The winners of yesterday's game day were such teams as BIG Academy, mouz NXT, Young NInjas and VP.Prodigy. FURIA Academy, NAVI Junior, Fnatic Rising and Astralis Talent were destined to lose in the fight against the above teams on July 30.
How did the matches go?
In the first battle, BIG Academy and FURIA Academy fought. The teams fought on Overpass, which we could see at this tournament quite often. In the first half, BIG Academy started off attack and showed mastery of pressure and took 9 rounds in the first half. FURIA Academy managed to take 6 rounds in defense and on this their success in this fight came to an end. The second pistol round went to the BIG Academy as well as all the remaining 6 rounds in defense for the Germans. FURIA Academy failed to take a single round in the attack and the team was defeated with a score of 6-16.
In the second confrontation, NAVI Junior and mouz NXT played against each other. The fight took place on Dust 2 and was very intense, intriguing and very interesting. In it, Natus Vincere Junior first managed to take only 3 rounds in the attack, and then they began to make a comeback. In defense, they managed to take 11 rounds from their European opponents mouz NXT and the team ended their participation in the battle with a score of 14-16. He was only two rounds away from victory and one round away from overtime. The elbow is close, but you won't bite. Thanks to this result, mouz NXT have already booked their ticket to the playoffs. NAVI Junior will have to try hard for this.
Young Ninjas and Fnatic Rising came face to face in the third match of yesterday's game day. The collectives have chosen Inferno as a battlefield. "Young Ninja" managed to win this confrontation, but at what cost? The first half was as equal as possible. There the Young Ninjas took 8 rounds. After the transition, "Young Ninja" showed good results in the attack, but Fnatic Rising also did not give up without a fight and, like the Swedes, took 8 rounds on the defense side. The teams brought the game to 15-15 and they had to use a series of additional rounds in order to determine the winner of the meeting. Surprisingly, Fnatic Rising couldn't show anything impressive after such a game. They spent the first 3 rounds in the same way on the defense side, but they failed to take a single round neither for defense nor for attack, which led to a result of 19-15 in favor of Young Ninjas.
The final fight took place with VP.Prodigy and Astralis Talent. The fans of the CIS team were worried about VP.Prodigy, since they had been unable to show good results in any of the championships for a long time. This time the team showed that, although not without difficulty, they are still ready to beat strong opponents. The teams met each other on Overpass, where they had previously played BIG Academy and FURIA Academy. VP.Prodigy immediately started making Astralis Talent dance to their tune and won one round after another. The first half ended 10-5. After the transition, the players from the Astralis academy showed their defense skills, but VP.Prodigy carried out six successful attacks and put an end to this confrontation. It ended with a score of 16-13 in favor of VP.Prodigy, and the latter now occupy 6th place in the group stage table.
