Very soon, CS fans will be watching thrilling matches at the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025, which will take place from November 24 to December 14, 2025, in Budapest, Hungary. A total of 32 teams from around the world will compete for the championship title and a $500,000 first-place prize. For the first time in history, the Major Grand Final will be played in a best-of-five (BO5) format.

The StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 Grand Final will go down in Counter-Strike history — for the first time ever, a Major final will be played in a best-of-five series. Until now, all Major Grand Finals — both in CS:GO and CS2 — were held in a BO3 format, making this shift to BO5 a historic moment for the entire scene. Organizers explained that the decision came in response to community demand, as fans had long wanted to see a final truly worthy of the game’s biggest stage.

A Major is the biggest and most prestigious tournament in the world of Counter-Strike. It already demands maximum focus and endurance from players due to its packed schedule and high level of competition. Now, with a BO5 Grand Final, the challenge becomes even tougher — not every team will be able to withstand the intensity of up to five maps in a row. For players, it’s a true test of resilience and character; for fans, it’s a chance to witness the most complete and thrilling battle for the year’s ultimate trophy.
