PGL Cluj-Napoca Announces Star-Studded Talent Lineup for $1.25M Tournament

PGL has officially unveiled the on-air talent roster for its upcoming Cluj-Napoca tournament, set to take place from February 14 to 23. The event will feature 15 prominent esports personalities, who will provide commentary, analysis, and interviews throughout the highly anticipated $1.25 million competition.

Given PGL’s previous experience producing the English-language broadcast for the Shanghai Major, it comes as no surprise that many familiar faces from that event will be returning to the desk for this tournament.

Experienced Hosts and Analysts at the Helm

Richard "Richard Lewis" Lewis and Tres "stunna" Saranthus will serve as the primary desk hosts, guiding viewers through the action with expert insights and engaging discussions.

The analyst panel will feature four well-respected figures from the CS2 community:

  • Dustin "dusT" Mouret (United States)
  • Alex "Mauisnake" Ellenberg (United States)
  • Sudhen "Bleh" Wahengbam (India)
  • Jacob "Pimp" Winneche (Denmark)

Notably, Sam "Tech Girl" Wright and Janko "YNk" Paunović, both of whom were part of the Major’s coverage, will not be part of this event’s broadcast lineup.

Casting Pairs: On-Site and Remote Coverage

Four casting duos will deliver live play-by-play commentary, with two pairs present at the venue and two working remotely.

On-Site Casters (Live from the Arena)

  • Alex "Machine" Richardson (United Kingdom)
  • Chad "SPUNJ" Burchill (Australia)
  • Conner "Scrawny" Girvan (Canada)
  • Mohan "launders" Govindasamy (Canada)

Remote Casters

  • Harry "JustHarry" Russell (United Kingdom) & Hugo "Hugo" Byron (United Kingdom)
  • Jason "moses" O'Toole (United States) & Adam "Dinko" Hawthorne (United Kingdom)

Additionally, James "BanKs" Banks will be responsible for player interviews and exclusive content throughout the event.

Tournament Format and Venue Details

The tournament will kick off with a 16-team Swiss stage, hosted at PGL’s studio in Bucharest. Once the top teams are determined, the competition will move to BTarena in Cluj-Napoca, where fans will witness a single-elimination playoff bracket, culminating in a best-of-five grand final.
