The first session of matches in the open qualifiers for IEM Road to Rio 2022 for Europe has almost ended. Yes, the ESEA site had time to rest, giving the players and fans a reason to once again reproach the organizers of the championship. However, outside of the technical issues, we saw some interesting results, which we will talk about next.

Almost no surprises

First, let's take a look at some fairly well-known teams that didn't even make it to the HLTV stage. Firstly, the failure of Movistar Riders is surprising, which, having the second seed, lost to Infinite Gaming (9:16). Suddenly, forZe took off, which lost to Struggletony at an early stage (14:16). The Finns from HAVU also failed to cope with the Portuguese Family (14:16).

The Swedish legends GeT_RiGhT, f0rest and friberg were also eliminated from the open qualifier, who lost to AVANGAR with their team d00m (15:19). Representatives of SKADE also found their defeat, losing to ottocentottantotto (10:16). The fight is over for Tricked as well, which was knocked out by popuskigalimi the day before (7:16). The Benched Heroes team, which included fear, smooya and Aunkere, managed to lose to the BakS eSports team (4:16) with RuFire.

Otherwise, all the favorites, including Astralis, MOUZ, OG, fnatic, Entropiq, SINNERS, Sprout, Falcons Esport, Eternal Fire and HEET continue to fight for tickets to IEM Road to Rio 2022.

The first open qualifier for IEM Road to Rio 2022 for Europe runs from 15 to 17 August. All qualifier matches will be held on the ESEA platform, which can be followed on the site's official page, as well as on our website.
