Extra Salt wins ESEA Premier Season 39 North America

The end of ESEA Premier Season 39 North America has come to an end. At the championship, which was held online from November 2 to December 19, 17 teams from North America competed for a prize pool of $ 50,000, as well as a ticket to ESL Pro League Season 16 Conference. The winner of the tournament was the Extra Salt team, which in the failed grand final outplayed the ChocoCheck team, which failed to put the squad for the decisive match.

The tournament for the future winner began with seven victories at the group stage, during which Extra Salt beat Team One (2: 0), Detonate (2: 0), voLante (2: 0), Party Astronauts (2: 0), RBG Esports (2: 1), Strife Esports (2: 0) and ATK (2: 0).

Thanks to such a successful performance, the team received a high seeding in the playoffs. Here Extra Salt beat Bad News Bears (2: 0) and Party Astronauts (2: 1) in the quarterfinals and semifinals, respectively, without any problems, thus making it to the final of the upper bracket. As it turned out in the last match, the team easily coped with ChocoCheck (2: 0) to reach the grand final. However, the ChocoCheck team, which outplayed paiN with a score of 2: 1 in the lower bracket, did not manage to advance the full roster to the grand final, having received a technical defeat.

Note that the teams that took places from 2nd to 11th got places at ESL Challenger League Season 40: North America. At the same time, teams from 12th to 15th places qualified for ESEA Season 39: Premier Relegation - North America.
