The most popular online payment methods in Poland

Online payments are steadily growing in popularity and are currently slightly behind direct transactions and payment cards. However, in the near future, the roles may reverse and people will even be paying exclusively online in shops - as is the case with all online services - e.g. GGBet Poland . But before that happens, it is worth taking a look at what payment methods are currently most popular, what the trends are and what the near future might bring.

GGBet online casino payment methods

A good example of presenting the most popular payment options would be the popular online casino GGBet. The portal uses regional adjustment, so if someone from a particular country registers, the portal will try to adjust the payment options in such a way that the recipient is satisfied. In this case, one receives the possibility of transactions using:

  • payment cards - Visa and Mastercard;
  • electronic wallets - ecoPayz, Skrill, Neteller;
  • direct transfer;
  • cryptocurrencies.

In addition, the provider adapts to changing trends and if it notices a new affordable option on the market, it adds it to its capabilities.

The most popular payment options on the Polish internet

Poles pay online on a regular basis and everyone certainly has their favourite method that they always look for - regardless of the services they use. For some, it will be payment gateways, others prefer electronic wallets and still others choose payment cards.

Interestingly, a large percentage of Poles decide on a particular option because of the knowledge they have about a particular payment. Sometimes they decide not to try something new for a very long time because they simply do not know how it works. Nevertheless, Poles are one of the most favourable nations when it comes to online transaction innovations.

Blik

For several years now, there has been one king in Poland when it comes to online transactions and that is Blik. This payment system was developed with the cooperation of a dozen of Poland's largest banks and is incredibly convenient to use. This is why most people who try using this payment system rarely choose anything else if they can use Blik.

The payment is very convenient - just follow a few simple steps and the money goes to its destination. The user rewrites a six-digit code from the app, validates and then confirms the payment in the bank's app - that's it.

Payment gateways

This is the second most common form of transaction and gives the user a huge amount of freedom. It involves moving the money to the gateway location and the payer takes care of transferring the funds for the recipient. In this way, all that is required is that the merchant or service provider has adapted to the payment gateway system and its users can use up to dozens of payment options provided by the gateway. This is a huge convenience for both the user and the merchant/service provider. The most popular Polish payment gateways include:

  • PayU,
  • Dotpay,
  • Przelewy24,
  • Tpay,
  • BlueMedia.

Payment gateways are particularly popular for online shops, and the most commonly used internal transaction options are Blik and direct transfer. In this case, all you need to do is redirect to your online banking and authorise the transfer - all the details will be automatically completed by the gateway.

Payment cards

This is an old but still popular electronic payment system. Cards are now mostly used for subscription services. This is when a registered card automatically renews the subscription payment on a set cycle.

This has its strengths and weaknesses, as the user may have less control over their spending. On the one hand, there is no need to keep an eye on timely transactions, while on the other hand, you may forget to unregister your card and not notice that a particular service is taking additional payments all the time.

This also has an impact on the willingness of Poles to use payment cards. Internet users are often simply afraid to register sensitive data for their card with online services, so that no outsider can gain access to it. However, there is always the option of de-registering the card after a payment has been made, but in this day and age so many steps to complete a transaction are simply unattractive.

Electronic wallets

These are popular, extremely convenient and widely used payment methods. The great advantage of electronic wallets is that they are not banking institutions and no one can see the payments being made. In addition, all transactions are processed immediately after confirmation. The downside of this form of payment is that they generally allow money to be exchanged between the accounts of a given platform, so if the recipient does not use the chosen wallet, it will not be possible to send them money. In addition, the wallet must first be funded by a bank transfer or an incoming transfer from another user's account.

This option is most commonly used for international transactions due to the ease of transferring funds between different payment environments.

Prepaid cards

An increasingly rare means of payment. Prepaid cards are redeemed in the standard way - using other popular methods - and used in specific services that accept them. The most popular example of a prepaid card is Paysafecard. If someone can make payments in this way, they simply transcribe the code from such a card or card and validate the transaction. The concept of prepaid cards is extended and can also include vouchers for topping up PSN, Netflix, Xbox Live, etc.
