Tekkz Reigns Supreme In eChampions League Invitational
Yuriy SheremetFIFA 20 may be coming to an end, with FIFA 21 visible on the horizon. However, the competitive scene is continuing to thrive, even though the next release in the series is a matter of weeks away. The eChampions League is the latest event to have taken place, and once again, it’s Tekkz who has come out on top.
EA Sports, creators of the fantastic FIFA series, have been putting a lot of work into making the game a mainstay of the competitive scene. And, their progress is evidenced by many leading bookmakers now offering markets on FIFA eSports action. This is quickly becoming a popular trend and is why we can see all available betting deposit methods growing all the time, in order to accommodate audiences from all over the world.
The eChampions League invitational, which took place between the 20th and 22nd of August, saw eight competitors come together to compete for a share of a $100,000 prize pool. Deemed as a best of the best clash; Gorilla, MegaBit, Tekkz, DullenMIKE, MoAuba, Stokes, NRaseck and Ollelito all came together to determine who is the standout FIFA player right now.
Group A saw Tekkz, representing Fnatic, progress alongside Werder Bremen’s MegaBit into round two, after defeating Gorilla and DullenMIKE respectively. In round two, Tekkz won 5-3 against MegaBit to secure a place in the final stage. The lower round of Group A belonged to Gorilla, with the former world champion coming out on top in a close battle with DullenMIKe (4-3), before going on to hand MegaBit a heavy 7-0 defeat to bag a final stage pass.
NRaseck 7 and MoAuba were the two competitors to make it into the final stage via Group B. NRaseck 7 hammered MoAuba 6-0 in round two to secure his place. MoAuba, like Gorilla, made it through via the lower round. He beat Gorilla’s teammate Stokes convincingly 4-1, to set up a clash with the former in the lower round semi-final. MoAuba, playing for Fokus Clan, went one better in the semis, beating Gorilla 5-1, and he then edged out NRaseck 7 in a tense 3-2 affair, to secure his place in the grand final.
Tekkz, who was most people’s favourite to win the event, also defeated NRaseck 7 to make the grand final. Their game ended 3-1, and with Tekkz in form, there was only going to be one winner when the Fnatic man and MoAuba met. Tekkz is the man for the big occasion, proven by his haul of trophies and titles in the last several years. He showed up again in the grand final of the eChampions League Invitational, brushing MoAuba aside with an impressive 4-1 victory.
Tekkz, real name Donovan Hunt, sent out a message to the FIFA eSports scene by winning the tournament. FIFA 21 is just around the corner, and all eyes will be on him to be the man to beat. It could prove to be another year of lifting trophies and securing titles for the eighteen-year-old.
