Today marks the release of Season 2 in the OG Fortnite game mode. Classic locations, items, and the Battle Pass from the original Season 2 (released in 2017) are back, giving players the chance to experience the Chapter 1 Season 2 content once again.

What is OG Fortnite?

OG Fortnite is a separate game mode that offers a classic Battle Royale experience filled with content from Chapter 1 of 2017. Players can choose between the current Battle Royale or the nostalgic OG mode from the game mode menu. Additionally, Zero Build, Reload, and Ranked modes are also available in OG Fortnite.

After years of players reminiscing about the golden days of Fortnite, Epic Games brought back a taste of Chapter 1 with Fortnite OG (Chapter 4 Season 5) in 2023, which lasted only 30 days. A year later, in December 2024, Fortnite introduced a permanent OG mode, fully recreating the original Battle Royale experience as it was in 2017. This means that when playing OG Fortnite, players step back in time to the classic map, weapons, and mechanics, with seasons progressing in the same order and duration as they did eight years ago.

What is Season 2 OG Fortnite?

Season 2 OG Fortnite is a full-fledged season for the OG Fortnite mode, bringing updates to the island along with a brand-new Battle Pass featuring exclusive rewards. The original Season 2 lasted 69 days, whereas this one will run for 54 days. The experience will feel similar but adjusted to a pace that fits the present day.

OG Fortnite Season 2 Battle Pass

The OG Pass is also back, offering 45 tiers of rewards inspired by Chapter 1 Season 2. Unlock new takes on classic Outfits like Sparkle Diva, Cuddle Team Specialist, and Knight Conqueror, plus a range of Back Bling, Gliders, and Pickaxes. Earn XP to progress through both free and premium tracks, with premium rewards available for 1,000 V-Bucks or via Fortnite Crew.

When does OG Fortnite Season 2 end?

The season began on January 31, 2025, and will run until March 25 of the same year. During this time, players can also participate in the current Fortnite Battle Royale season, Chapter 6 Season 1. Rewards can be earned from all Battle Passes simultaneously, with a total of four available.
