Guide to Legion Commander. Multifunctional hero for offlane
Yuriy SheremetIntroduction
In the current meta, you only need 3 inexpensive items. These are Blink Dagger, Blademail and Aghanim's Shard. Aghanim's Shard only costs 1400 gold, but when you purchase it, you gain 1.75 seconds of magic immunity from Press the Attack every 11 seconds. This is exactly what makes this hero incredibly strong right now, since in the late game you can choose the Press the Attack AoE talent. That is, at level 25, you can scatter almost a two-second BKB on the entire team, which will also remove most debuffs and heal allies.
The hero is versatile as hecan play with different paces and tactics. You can play aggressively, constantly attacking opponents and hooking them into duels, or vice versa - passively, making clear counter-attacks to kill heroes pointwise.
The character can also be made into a strong core by giving him some BKB and Desolator/Assault Cuirass farming, which will provide the team with another source of physical damage.
On Legion Commander, you can also hold enemy carries if they do a lot of damage in a fight. Just give him a Duel and he will fall out of the fight for a few seconds. If he kills you during this time, follow the example of the professional player 9pasha and buy a Ghost Scepter. Yes, yes, exactly him. Press an item before Duel and you will stun the enemy carry for a few seconds.

Hero Abilities
Overwhelming Odds
- Percentage damage is only dealt to creatures created by abilities, up to base and additional
- Extra damage counts creep-heroes and illusions as creeps
- Below is how much damage the ability will deal with a certain number of heroes without other creatures nearby
- Ignores couriers, invulnerable and hidden creatures
- The initial part of the spell sound plays during the cast animation and is audible to everyone
- The buff from multiple casts of Overwhelming Odds does not stack, but refreshes
Press the attack
Removes all debuffs from an allied target and briefly increases their attack speed and health regeneration.
Aghanim's Shard Upgrade: Grants magic immunity for seconds. Reduces cooldown by 2 seconds.
- Applies a strong dispel on the target on cast
- Recovers up to 150/200/250/300 (350/400/450/500) Health over the duration
- If Legion Commander wins the duel, Press the Attack of the current level will be applied to the hero
- When upgraded with Aghanim's Shard Press the Attack also applies a basic dispel and grants magic immunity
- The level 25 talent turns Press the Attack into an area spell, so it can no longer target creatures directly.
Moment of Courage
Can instantly respond to an enemy attack with a counterattack with additional lifesteal.
- Only triggers when starting an attack against Legion Commander regardless of range
- Triggers on attacks from any creature, regardless of team affiliation or creature type (including wards and buildings)
- When triggered, Legion Commander gains a buff that grants 1000 attack speed and lifesteal
- Stacks with other sources of lifesteal
- Lifesteal does not work when attacking wards, buildings and allied creatures
- Moment of Courage uses a pseudo-random distribution.
Duel
Challenges the selected enemy hero to a duel in which the opponents are forced to attack each other for a short period of time. They cannot use abilities or use items. If one of the heroes dies in a duel, the winner will receive a permanent damage bonus.
Aghanim's Scepter Upgrade: Increases the duration of the duel and halves the damage from all but its participants. Reduces cooldown by 20 seconds.
- Grants True Sight on the caster and their target for both teams, so invisibility does not prevent each other from being hit (does not pierce True Sight immunity).
- Applies silence, silence, and taunt to both Legion Commander and the target.
- Duel's taunt priority is higher than other sources of the effect; other abilities cannot change the target of the duelists' attack.
- Duelists are selectable but cannot be moved with Force Staff, Hurricane Pike, Geomagnetic Grip or Telekinesis.
- Gives duelists unimpeded movement, allowing them to move through hills, trees, and other creatures.
- The duel will end instantly without a winner being determined if the distance between the duelists exceeds 2000 at any time. (It will also end if the creature is affected by Depth Shroud, an allied Dismember, or Supernova.)
- The creature will win the duel if its opponent dies before it ends. If the duelists survived, then there will be no winner.
- The winner does not have to be the one who delivers the killing blow. His opponent can die from enemies, neutral creatures, or be finished off by an ally or by himself.
- The winner takes additional damage if their opponent is a hero, not an illusion, and they died (or became a ghost due to Reincarnation).
- If defeated by Legion Commander, then she receives a buff from Press the Attack of the current level
- Can be used on illusions. Illusions get bonus damage from victory, real heroes don't
- If two enemy heroes are Soulbinded and Duel is cast on them, Legion Commander will take damage for each hero that dies during the duel
- Upgraded by Aghanim's Scepter, reduces incoming damage against both duelists. This reduction stacks additively with other sources of incoming damage reduction (The reduction reduces all incoming damage that is not marked as health-removal and comes from any targets that are not dueling).
Leveling abilities
Talents
Items
The most popular items on the hero:
Assembly examples:
Soul Ring - gives us the necessary mana to spam arrows in the lane. Further on the game will be useful for a long time.
Blink Dagger is the main item in the build, without which we will not be able to initiate fights and duel in the target we want.
Heaven's Halberd - over time, linken spheres will appear on enemies, so this item is needed first of all to quickly knock down a link and give a duel, besides, the halberd gives a lot of useful stats.
Assault Cuirass - The hero needs armor, this item is perfect for this build.
When playing in position four, buying Aghanim's Shard is the main task for which the hero is picked for this position.
Gameplay
First of all, it is worth saying that Legionka can play normally in any position. In the safe lane, for example, the hero will farm well and quickly get key artifacts. In the case of a difficult lane, the farm will certainly be less, but it will be possible to get to level 6 faster and start using the ult.
The most important stage of the game for Legionka is the first half of the match. In order to start effectively attacking enemies and accumulating damage, it is often enough just to buy Blink Dagger and, for example, Blade Mail. At the beginning of the game, try to choose the target that your allies will kill as quickly as possible. The cooldown of the ultimate is less than a minute, so you have a chance to get a huge amount of damage by the middle of the game. Even 5-6 kills already give a noticeable increase in damage. Remember that your damage in the early game will most often be missed. So you always need to count on the support of allies. Throughout the game, you should carefully watch all the lines and choose the one on which you are more likely to make a kill. It is desirable that your supports use wards more often, because due to good vision, you can see some hero who is on a spree and deal with him quickly.
