League of Legends Servers Guide

League of Legends is a game that has rightfully claimed its place as one of the most popular MOBAs in the world. Having captured the hearts of millions of fans, Riot Games ensured their comfort by launching numerous servers across the globe. Thanks to this, every player—regardless of location—can enjoy smooth gameplay without delays or lag.
In this blog, we’ll explore all existing League of Legends servers and highlight what makes each of them unique.
All League of Legends Servers

№ | Region | Abbreviation | Approximate Server Location | Note |
1 | North America | NA | Chicago, USA | One of the largest regions |
2 | Europe West | EUW | Amsterdam, Netherlands | Popular for European players |
3 | Europe Nordic & East | EUNE | Frankfurt, Germany | Currently unavailable for transfers |
4 | Korea | KR | Seoul, South Korea | Separate server, requires Korean ID |
5 | Japan | JP | Tokyo, Japan | Unique region with low ping in Asia |
6 | Oceania | OCE | Sydney, Australia | Covers Australia and New Zealand |
7 | Latin America North | LAN | Miami, USA | Serves northern Latin America |
8 | Latin America South | LAS | Santiago, Chile | Southern part of Latin America |
9 | Turkey | TR | Istanbul, Turkey | Often chosen by CIS players |
10 | Brazil | BR | São Paulo, Brazil | For Portuguese-speaking region |
11 | Southeast Asia | SEA | Singapore and others | Managed by Riot since 2023, no longer Garena |
12 | Middle East & North Africa | MENA | UAE or Saudi Arabia (not exactly known) | New region, introduced in 2023–2024 |
13 | Vietnam | VN | Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam | Managed by Riot Vietnam |
14 | Taiwan | TW | Taipei, Taiwan | Separate region |
15 | Singapore | SG | Singapore | New standalone region, created in 2025 |
16 | China | CN | Multiple data centers | Operated by Tencent, separate client |
At the moment, there are 16 League of Legends servers, 11 of which are available for account transfer.
For example, the SG server (Singapore) is open for transfers — even though it was only introduced in 2025. Just like EUW, NA, and other global Riot servers, it doesn’t require any special conditions. All you need to do is select the SG server in the client and pay 2600 RP.
However, it’s important to note that SG is intended for players from Southeast Asia, so those from other regions may experience high ping — it’s not ideal for everyone.
There are also restricted servers where account transfer is not allowed.
For example:
- The Chinese region (CN) requires a separate Tencent client, and Riot does not support account transfers to it. The Korean server (KR) is even stricter. To play there, you need a
- Korean ID (Resident Registration Number). Without it, you won’t even be able to log into the game.
It’s also worth noting that different servers may have variations in events, rewards, and in-game missions — especially in regions with their own clients or exclusive promotional partnerships.
Rewards (Quests, Events, Missions)
On Riot-operated servers, rewards are generally the same. However:
- In CN and KR, there can be exclusive in-game items (such as icons, borders, and skins) that aren’t available anywhere else in the world. For example, the “Arcanist Zoe” skin with a unique border was only obtainable through RP purchases via the local service Kakao Pay. There were also special icons celebrating LoL Park and the LCK, which were exclusive to the Korean server.
- On some servers like TR, BR, and LATAM, Riot runs localized promotions, offering RP bonuses, partner deals, or regional discounts.
Ranked System
Since 2024, all Riot-operated servers use the same ranked system:
- Two ranked splits per year (Stage 1 and Stage 2)
- Progression emblem that visually tracks your climb
- Promotion series between divisions have been removed
KR and CN use the same ranked system, but with some regional differences:
- In Korea, there may be an additional “Top Ladder” ranking, which is tracked on third-party sites like OP.GG or FOW.kr.
- In China, there is a unique “Honor Points” system that affects access to ranked play.
Store and Pricing
- The cost of RP varies by server, depending on the country’s economy.
- Skins, bundles, and event passes are generally the same across all regions, but sales and discounts can differ.
- Servers like TR, BR, and LATAM often feature regional RP discounts and localized promotions.
These are the main differences between servers, and as you may have noticed, there’s nothing drastically better or worse in terms of core mechanics or overall gameplay comfort.

What is the best server in League of Legends?

After analyzing all League of Legends servers, it’s safe to say that the best server is the one where you feel most comfortable playing. This primarily depends on your region and the ping you get during matches.
It’s also important to consider the language barrier — even though there’s no voice chat in the game, simple communication in text chat can be difficult if you don’t understand your teammates. And in a team-based game, coordination is key.
As for skill level, yes, the Korean and Chinese servers are considered some of the most competitive and challenging. However, as mentioned earlier, access to them is restricted — you’ll need either a local ID or a separate client.
That said, European and other Riot servers aren’t far behind in terms of skill level, especially at higher ranks.
My advice is to prioritize stable ping first, and only then consider language and community. If you have access to multiple regions, try them out, compare, and play where you feel most comfortable.
Because in the end, enjoying the game and being able to communicate with your team matters the most.
