Genshin Impact Version 5.4 New Character Review Yumemizuki Mizuki

Genshin Impact Version 5.4 is now available in all regions, and in this patch, the developers continue to delight us with new features and content. In my opinion, one of the best additions in this patch is the introduction of a new five-star character. This is the Anemo character Yumemizuki Mizuki, who possesses unique abilities and an engaging playstyle. Today, we will take a closer look at his features, gameplay style, and possible team compositions.

Yumemizuki Mizuki New Anemo Character

Genshin Impact Yumemizuki Mizuki

As mentioned in the preview, the developers have delighted us with a fresh character in Genshin Impact Version 5.4. Now, I will give you a detailed breakdown of who New Genshin character Mizuki is, what role she can play in your team, and what resources you’ll need to level her up. I’ll try to explain everything in a way that helps you decide whether this character is worth adding to your team or if it’s better to save your Primogems for other characters. Well then, let’s dive into the review of this new character!

Mizuki’s Abilities

Yumemizuki Mizuki is a five-star Anemo character who wields a catalyst. Appearing in Genshin Impact Version 5.4, she is sure to bring valuable changes to our teams. Let’s take a closer look at her abilities.

Normal Attack – Pure Heart, Pure DreamsMizuki performs up to three consecutive attacks, dealing Anemo damage when pressing the normal attack button (LMB). Holding the button consumes part of her stamina, and after a short preparation time, she unleashes AOE Anemo damage.Like most characters with plunging attacks, Mizuki can dive from mid-air and deal AOE damage upon impact, damaging nearby enemies.

Elemental Skill – Aisa Utamakura PilgrimageMizuki weaves memories of beautiful dreams, entering the Dreamdrifter state, where she floats above the ground and deals a single instance of AOE Anemo damage to nearby opponents.

Dreamdrifter State Effects

While in the Dreamdrifter state, Mizuki gains the following effects:

  • She rises into the air and continuously hovers, periodically dealing AOE Anemo damage to nearby enemies.
  • During this effect, Mizuki can change her movement direction, and the pickup range for Yumemi Style Special Snacks from her Elemental Burst is increased.
  • Enhances Swirl damage dealt by nearby party members based on her Elemental Mastery.
  • The Dreamdrifter state ends if Mizuki leaves the battlefield or reactivates her Elemental Skill.

Judging by her abilities, Mizuki appears to be a highly mobile character who can fit into almost any team. Now, let’s take a look at her passive talents, which will help us determine her role in the party.

Mizuki’s Passive Talents

Genshin Impact Yumemizuki Mizuki

Mizuki’s passive abilities also look very interesting:

First Passive Talent – All Ailments BanishedWhen Mizuki is in the party, members have a chance to restore an additional 30% HP when using healing food that does not have reviving properties. The activation chance of this effect increases with the character's Friendship Level. If the Traveler consumes the food, this effect will always trigger.

Second Passive Talent – Bright Moon's Restless VoiceWhen Mizuki triggers Swirl while in the Dreamdrifter state, its duration is extended by 2.5 seconds. This effect can be triggered once every 0.3 seconds, up to a maximum of two times per Dreamdrifter state.

Third Passive Talent – Thoughts by Day Bring Dreams by NightWhile Mizuki is in the Dreamdrifter state, when nearby party members hit opponents with Pyro, Hydro, Cryo, or Electro attacks, her Elemental Mastery is increased by 100 for 4 seconds.

Based on Mizuki's abilities and passive talents, she is well-suited as a support character, enhancing most elemental reactions. However, she can also be considered a sub-DPS thanks to her Dreamdrifter form, which allows her to deal a significant amount of damage.

Team Compositions for Mizuki

For Swirl Reactions: Xingqiu + Fischl + Keqing + Mizuki (boosts Electro and Hydro damage through Swirl).

For Crowd Control and Damage: Kazuha + Hu Tao + Mona + Mizuki (provides Swirl support, AOE crowd control, and healing).

For Melt Reactions: Rosaria + Bennett + Ganyu + Mizuki (enhances Cryo and Pyro damage through Melt).

Based on her abilities, Mizuki is expected to secure a strong position in the Genshin Impact Tier List, as her skillset and potential look impressive on paper.

Essentially, she can replace Sayu or Sucrose if you need an Anemo support with elemental damage and additional healing. So if you’ve been looking for an Anemo support, but Sayu and Sucrose don’t appeal to you, Mizuki is definitely worth your attention.

Mizuki Talent Upgrade Materials

Yumemizuki Mizuki Ascension

Genshin Impact Yumemizuki Mizuki

As with all characters, obtaining Mizuki duplicates through wishes will grant you Stella Fortuna. This allows you to unlock Constellations, making your character stronger.

Thanks to duplicates, you can enhance a talent or passive ability, but not by choice—it follows a predetermined upgrade path.

Now, let’s take a look at Mizuki’s Constellations in Genshin Impact:

  • C1 – In Mist-Like WatersWhen Mizuki is in the Dreamdrifter state, she applies the Twenty-Three Nights' Awaiting effect to nearby opponents every 3.5 seconds, lasting for 3 seconds. If an opponent affected by this effect takes damage from a Swirl reaction triggered by Anemo damage, the effect will be removed, and the damage of this Swirl instance against that opponent will be increased by 1100% of Mizuki’s Elemental Mastery.
  • C2 – Your Echo I Meet in DreamsUpon entering the Dreamdrifter state, every point of Elemental Mastery Mizuki has increases the Pyro, Hydro, Cryo, and Electro Damage Bonuses of all nearby party members by 0.04% until the Dreamdrifter state ends.
  • C3 – Till Dawn's Moon Ends NightIncreases the level of Mizuki’s Elemental Skill by 3, with a maximum upgrade level of 15.
  • C4 – Buds Warm Lucid SpringsWhen a character picks up a Yumemi Style Special Snack from Mizuki’s Elemental Burst, the effect will both deal damage and heal, as well as restore 5 Energy to Mizuki. This effect can trigger up to four times during the Elemental Burst’s duration.
  • C5 – As Setting Moon Brings Year's EndIncreases the level of Mizuki’s Elemental Burst by 3, with a maximum upgrade level of 15.
  • C6 – The Heart Lingers LongWhile Mizuki is in the Dreamdrifter state, Swirl damage dealt by nearby party members can critically strike. The Crit Rate of Swirl is fixed at 30%, and the Crit Damage is fixed at 100%.

In my opinion, Mizuki's Constellations are incredibly strong and will be useful in any team composition.

Should You Pull for New Genshin Character Mizuki?

If you want to strengthen your team with Swirl reactions and don’t have a solid alternative—or if you don’t like Faruzan or Sayu—then I highly recommend pulling on this banner. Mizuki is a highly mobile and versatile character who fits well into most team compositions and brings massive impact with her abilities. If you manage to get multiple constellations, she will enhance your team even further.

Of course, the decision isn’t just about a character’s strength but also their design and gameplay. Fortunately, the developers give us a chance to test the character and decide whether they are worth pulling for or if it’s better to save Primogems for your favorite character or an upcoming rerun.

Either way, Mizuki is a strong and versatile unit, and it’s up to you to decide if she fits into your team. Wishing you good luck with your pulls, Traveler!
