CS: GO vs. League of Legends
Bogdan LashchenkoNot so long ago, both Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and League of Legends broke viewing records, and tournaments for both esports games attracted millions of viewers and thousands of players on top CSGO gambling sites. Where did the year start and who is leading the way for these two games?
Who is tournament champion in January 2022
In January, Twitch viewers mainly followed League of Legends, which is a good start to the year. Three regional leagues (LCK, LEC and LCS) were in the top five, while two of the Korean tournaments drew more than 140,000 spectators.
Unlike last year, there was no ML:BB World Championship this January, but League of Legends was at the forefront. The biggest audience in January was LCK Spring 2022, one of the most popular eSports leagues in the world. The game between the two most popular teams of the tournament, DWG KIA vs. T1 - attracted more than 759,000 spectators.
Fourth place also went to LoL - LEC Spring 2022. More than 527,000 spectators watched the debut match of the newly formed G2 Esports team against Excel Esports.
Valve 's popular CS:GO shooter hosted 9 eSports tournaments in January, with only 3 planned for February. The tournament with the largest prize pool of $1 million is Katowice 2022LIVEESL. It is organized by the German eSports organization IEM. The number of viewers is far less than League of Legends - about 250,000 fans and fans of Esport Live Betting.

Counter-Strike Women's League
The eSports organizer ESL Gaming has announced the first women's league for CS: GO. In the new league, eight European and eight North American teams will compete for prize money totaling $150,000.
These finals will be held at DreamHack Dallas June 3-5, 2022 and DreamHack Winter November 25-27, 2022.
League of Legends and CS:GO: Viewer Records
Last year, League of Legends peaked at 4 million viewers, while Counter-Strike: Global Offensive reached 2.5 million.
This happened at the League of Legends World Championship Finals, followed by the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Main Championship Finals.
LoL viewership
The LoL finals, in which Chinese company EDward Gaming defeated Korean company Damwon Gaming in a dramatic five-game series, was watched by more than 4 million viewers at times. What makes this number even more impressive is the fact that it only includes viewers outside of China, where the game is seen outside of the traditionally tracked streaming platforms and LoL betting sites.
Viewership of CS:GO
In Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, the grand final between NaVi and G2 drew more than 2.5 million viewers as NaVi ended the streak 2-0 despite Nuke getting closer and closer. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive's peak ratings on Sunday broke the previous record of 1.3 million viewers set in 2017, Dot Esports reports.
Similarly, the top ratings for League of Legends and LoL online betting fans at the International Championship not only broke their own viewership record, but also became the most-watched esports event in non-mobile gaming history.
