Best LoL Teams 2025: Half Season Period

The League of Legends 2025 Season has been incredibly eventful. A new mode — Fearless Draft, a new tournament — First Stand, new ideas and strategies from teams. In this blog, we’ll take a look at the top 10 teams, in our opinion, that are currently the strongest in the world.

Best League of Legends Teams at This Moment

In this list, I will include teams based on their accomplishments and victories at both international and regional tournaments. However, when forming this top 10, there will also be a personal opinion component, shaped after watching the teams' matches across all tournaments. This ranking is mainly based on teams’ achievements in regional championships and may exclude other strong teams from different regions. For better understanding and to compare your own statistics and rankings, I recommend checking out our Teams LoL page, which contains detailed information about teams, their wins and losses, as well as statistics for both teams and individual players.

Gen.G Esports

Gen.G Roster:

Our top begins with Gen.G — and it’s hard to argue with that. The team finished their LCK Round 1–2 split without a single loss, going 18–0 in the group stage. But what’s even more impressive is that they continued their undefeated streak. Gen.G didn’t lose a single match at the LCK Road to MSI, won MSI 2025 by defeating T1 in a 3–2 final, and just a few days later went on to win EWC 2025 without dropping a single series, beating AG.AL 3–2 in a tense final. The team is confidently heading toward the Gold Road — all that’s left is to win the World Championship 2025 to solidify their status as the unbeatable team of the year.

T1

T1 Roster:

Choosing who to place second was a tough decision, but in the end, I went with the legendary T1. Despite a rough start to the year — where the team was on the verge of losing to FEARX or BRION, teams that T1, even in theory, shouldn’t be losing to — they did struggle early on. However, the rest of the year turned out much better. They finished second at the regional championship and qualified for MSI 2025. At MSI 2025, T1 faced Gen.G twice — in the Upper Bracket Final and the Grand Final — but lost both times, finishing the tournament in second place. Their next major event was EWC, where T1 placed third after losing in the semifinals to Anyone's Legend, who got their revenge after being defeated by T1 at MSI 2025.

Anyone`s Legend

Anyone’s Legend Roster:

Representing the LPL region - Anyone`s Legend, this team went from being a mid-tier squad that never placed higher than top 5 in regional championships to a world-class contender — all within half a year. In LPL 2025 Split 1, they secured second place, falling just short in the final against Top Esports. By LPL 2025 Split 2, the team had found their rhythm and understood how to win. As a result, they took first place in the region by defeating Bilibili Gaming 3–1 in the final.

Next came MSI 2025, where the team truly shined and was just one step away from the final — but faced T1, who narrowly beat them 3–2 in a very close series. The last tournament of the first half of 2025 was EWC 2025, where the team proved they are legitimate contenders for the Worlds title. They started directly in the Playoffs, where they arguably faced the toughest bracket of all. First, they went up against Hanwha Life Esports, then met T1 and managed to get their revenge with a 2–0 win. In the final, they faced the undefeated Gen.G. After dropping the first two games, the team pulled themselves together and tied the series 2–2, but Gen.G didn’t let go in the fifth game and closed it out, becoming the EWC 2025 champions.

Hanwha Life Esports

Hanwha Life Esports Roster:

A team that can contend for top 1 to top 3 both in their region and globally — Hanwha Life Esports. HLE started the year strong by winning LCK Winter 2025 and qualifying for the new international tournament — First Stand. There, they didn’t give a single team a chance, taking first place in dominant fashion. Afterwards, they experienced a slight slump — finishing third at LCK Road to MSI, where they lost to T1 and failed to qualify for MSI.

Then came the LoL EWC 2025, where they had to start from the Group Stage. As expected, the Group Stage was a walk in the park for HLE, and many considered them tournament favorites and strong contenders for the championship title. However, in the Playoffs, their first opponent was AG.AL — the eventual finalists of EWC 2025. In a very close match, HLE unfortunately lost 1–2 and exited the tournament in 5th–8th place.

Bilibili Gaming

Bilibili Gaming Roster:

Fifth place goes to the second LPL representative — Bilibili Gaming. The team has been experiencing a noticeable decline. In LPL Split 1, they were eliminated in Round 3 after losing to Top Esports 1–3, finishing 4th in the group. In the following split, their results improved, but not to the level fans had hoped for. They placed second, losing twice to Anyone’s Legend.

Next came MSI 2025, where they started from the Play-In Stage. The group stage went smoothly for them — they won both matches 3–0, and it seemed like the team was returning to their prime. However, in Upper Bracket Round 2 they lost to T1 0–3, and in Lower Bracket Round 3 they were defeated by AL with the same score, 0–3. As a result, the team placed 4th at MSI 2025.

At EWC 2025, they performed even worse, finishing 5th–8th after losing 2–1 in the Quarterfinals to G2 Esports. It’s also worth mentioning that immediately after their elimination from the tournament, BLG kicked their jungler Wei. It’ll be interesting to see what awaits the team with their new lineup.

FlyQuest

FlyQuest Roster:

A team that pleasantly surprised with their performance — FlyQuest. Starting the year with third-place finishes in regional tournaments, the team progressed to consistently placing in the top 5–6 at international events.

Let’s start with MSI, where the team made it to Lower Bracket Round 2, where they narrowly lost 2–3 to Bilibili Gaming. They were just one step away from moving further, but a loss is a loss — still, a solid 5th–6th place at MSI 2025. EWC 2025 began for the team in the Group Stage, which they passed with minimal issues. They lost one match to G2 Esports, but it was a Bo1, so the result was fairly unpredictable. Reaching the Playoffs, they were matched in the Quarterfinals against the MSI 2025 champions — Gen.G — and lost 0–2, ending their tournament run.

CTBC Flying Oysters

PSG Talon Roster:

Seventh place goes to CTBC Flying Oysters. This team became a revelation for many in 2025, managing to challenge most of the top-tier teams. They began their 2025 season by winning the LCP 2025 Season Kickoff and followed it up with a third-place finish at First Stand. Personally, I believe CTBC Flying Oysters — aside from HLE — were the only team that truly deserved to be in the final, but they were just a bit unlucky in their 2–3 loss to Karmine Corp.

They then won the LCP 2025 Mid Season and qualified for MSI, where they showed a respectable level of play. They made it to Lower Bracket Round 2, where they lost to Anyone’s Legend 3–1, finishing 5th–6th at MSI 2025. At EWC 2025, the team placed only 9th–10th, losing to MKOI 0–1 in the Group Stage. In my opinion, if it had been a Bo3 or Bo5 format, CTBC Flying Oysters would have easily taken down MKOI and advanced. Bo1 is simply too unpredictable — any team can beat the strongest or lose to the weakest.

G2 Esports

G2 Esports Roster:

The legendary LEC squad, currently facing challenges after roster changes at the end of 2024, takes 8th place in our ranking. The team finished second twice in a row at regional championships in 2025. At LEC 2025 Winter, G2 lost to Karmine Corp 0–3, and at LEC 2025 Spring, they lost the final to MKOI 1–3. This result felt extremely underwhelming compared to the previous year, where the team won every split in their region.

At MSI 2025, G2 Esports started from the Group Stage, which they passed with minimal trouble, losing only to BLG but still making it to the Playoffs. However, the Playoffs were a disaster — the team didn’t win a single match, taking just one game. They first lost to Gen.G 1–3, and then were eliminated from the Lower Bracket by FlyQuest with a 0–3 loss. In the end, they placed 7th–8th at MSI 2025.

Their next tournament, EWC, went significantly better. G2 managed to finish 4th, losing the third-place match to T1.

MKOI

Team Heretics Roster:

MKOI takes the ninth spot in this ranking. The team won LEC 2025 Spring, which allowed them to qualify directly for the Playoffs at MSI 2025, but they didn’t achieve much success at the tournament. They played two matches in the Playoffs and lost both — first against BLG with a score of 1–3, then to CTBC Flying Oyster, also 1–3. This placed them 7th–8th, sharing the spot with G2 Esports.

At EWC 2025, the team finished 5th–8th, starting from the Group Stage, which they successfully passed. But in the Playoffs, they faced T1 in the first round. While they managed to put up a fight, losing 1–2, the match felt like it was under T1’s full control.

GAM Esports/FURIA

Best LoL Teams 2025: Half Season Period 10

GAM Esports Roster:

It was difficult to single out just one team between GAM Esports and FURIA. The teams are quite evenly matched in terms of their capabilities and have often shown similar — and rather underwhelming — results at tournaments, typically placing in the 9th–12th range. However, GAM Esports can probably be placed slightly higher, as they managed to defeat FURIA in their head-to-head matchups. Even though the score was close at 3–2, it was still a win.

Honorable Mentions

As I mentioned at the very beginning, this ranking is based mostly on teams’ performances at international tournaments — where each region is limited in the number of slots. Objectively evaluating the strength of all teams is extremely difficult, simply because most of them have never faced each other and might never do so. The varying level of regional play also greatly impacts the objectivity of any ranking. For example, top 4–8 teams from the LCK or LPL could very well be capable of beating the top 1–3 teams from other regions.

I would also include some additional teams from the LCK in this ranking: KT Rolster and Nongshim RedForce — both very worthy contenders who could have performed well internationally if not for the slot restrictions. From the LPL, I would mention Top Esports and JD Gaming — two highly competitive teams that could have challenged others both at MSI and EWC.
