Nova China and FunPlus Phoenix advance to semi-finals of Icons Global Championship 2022

The teams Nova China and FunPlus Phoenix reached the semi-finals of the Icons Global Championship 2022. In the quarter-finals of the tournament, the representatives of China were stronger than KT Rolster and Rex Regum Qeon, respectively, thus continuing to fight for the coveted prize. In turn, the teams KT Rolster and Rex Regum Qeon left the Icons Global Championship 2022, earning $80,000 each.

In the first quarterfinal of the tournament, the Nova China team managed to cope with KT Rolster. At the same time, the Chinese team managed to prevent the comeback of the South Korean team, giving it the second game. As a result, Nova China successfully played the remaining two matches to get into the semi-finals of the championship - 3:1.

Further, FunPlus Phoenix ran over the representatives of Rex Regum Qeon without a chance, spending 60 minutes for three games. As a result, the Chinese team continued its unbeaten streak in the tournament, making it to the semi-finals — 3:0.

Icons Global Championship 2022 takes place from June 14 to July 9 in Singapore at the Suntec Convention and Exhibition Centre. As part of the championship, 24 teams from Europe, Southeast Asia, China, North and South America, Japan and South Korea are fighting for a prize pool of $2,000,000.

  • 13th-16th place: Liberty, Leviatán, Team Queso and Buriram United Esports — $40,000.
  • 17th-20th place: Sentinels, Rix.GG, Unsold Stuff Gaming and Game-Lord — $10,000.
  • 21st-24th place: Freecs, Keyd Stars, STMN Esports and Furious Gaming — $10,000.
