NUTURN Gaming beat Version1 to reach the final of the upper bracket
The second semi-final of VCT 2021: Stage 2 Masters - Reykjavík has ended, in which NUTURN Gaming beat Version1 and reached the final of the upper bracket. Now the South Korean squad will face the Sentinels, while Version1 will face the winner of the Fnatic - X10 Esports pair.
The series began on Haven, which was chosen by the North American band. Version1 immediately seized the initiative, not letting the opponent breathe. As a result, the “hosts” took their pick without any problems with a score of 13: 3 and went to the second map.
However, on Ascent, intrigue suddenly appeared. Despite the victory in the first half for Version1, the South Korean team showed a solid defense, playing well in post-plant situations. As a result, NUTURN Gaming managed to equalize and bring the card to overtime, where it turned out to be stronger - 15:13.
Split became the desider, in which the teams again failed to identify the strongest in regulation time, having won six rounds for each side. However, in overtimes, NUTURN Gaming proved to be stronger again, showing two confident rounds - 14:12.
