DRX Defeat Paper Rex in VALORANT Champions 2025 Playoffs
In one of the most intense matches of the VALORANT Champions 2025 playoffs, DRX secured a 2:0 victory over Paper Rex, moving forward to the next stage of the tournament.
Map 1: Ascent (15:13 DRX)
The opening map was a nail-biter from start to finish. DRX started on defense and secured 11 rounds, giving them a solid lead going into the second half. Paper Rex responded with a strong attack and managed to push the map into overtime, but in the decisive moments, DRX held their ground and closed it out 15:13. Hyunmin on Waylay was the standout player with 36 kills and 345 ACS, while Jinggg on Sage led the way for PRX with 28 frags and 276 ACS.
Map 2: Lotus (13:8 DRX)
Lotus was Paper Rex’s map pick, but it was DRX who dictated the pace from the start. They built a comfortable lead by halftime and never let their opponents mount a comeback. Despite Jinggg’s efforts on Raze, where he posted 20 kills and 261 ACS, DRX’s Hyunmin once again stepped up with 19 kills and 246 ACS, sealing the map 13:8 in favor of the Korean squad.
DRX managed to surprise many fans by delivering a disciplined and confident performance against one of the tournament favorites. Paper Rex had their moments, but ultimately couldn’t close out the critical rounds when it mattered most.
