The first split of the 2025 VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) Americas has concluded with G2 Esports claiming the championship title, marking a historic achievement in the region’s competitive VALORANT scene. In a thrilling grand final, G2 defeated Sentinels 3-1, showcasing dominance and resilience throughout the best-of-five series.

A Convincing Victory Over Sentinels

G2 triumphed over Sentinels with a final score of 3-1 in maps:

  • Haven – 13:9
  • Split – 13:9
  • Pearl – 10:13
  • Ascent – 13:10

Each map demonstrated G2’s strategic depth and individual brilliance, with consistent performances across the board. After winning the first two maps, G2 narrowly lost Pearl, but quickly recovered to close the series on Ascent with solid team coordination and clutch plays.

The Champions: G2 Roster

The winning G2 lineup included:

  • Jonahp
  • Trent
  • Valyn
  • Leaf
  • Jawgemo

This well-rounded squad delivered a balanced blend of explosive fragging and composed support, showing remarkable synergy throughout the event. Their performance not only earned them the championship but also cemented their place in the record books.

Sentinels Fall Short in Final

Despite falling in the final, Sentinels demonstrated high-caliber gameplay and adaptability through the split. Their roster featured:

  • Zekken
  • Johnqt
  • Zellsis
  • Bang
  • N4rrate

After an impressive lower bracket run, Sentinels couldn’t quite overcome G2’s momentum, but their runner-up finish secures them a place among the top contenders heading into the next international event.

A Historic Back-to-Back Victory for G2

With this victory, G2 becomes the first team in VALORANT Americas history to win the regional tournament twice in a row, an unprecedented feat that underscores their dominance in the region. Their consistent performance across both splits sets a high benchmark for other teams and positions them as a formidable force ahead of the upcoming major.
