Dplus wins VALORANT Challengers 2023: Korea Split 1
/VALORANT Challengers 2023: Korea Split 1 has come to an end. As part of the competition, which took place from January 26 to February 25 in South Korea at the LVUP Red Studio, eight local teams competed for a total prize pool of $57,665, as well as six tickets to the second split, which will take place in the spring. The championship was won by the Dplus team, which in the grand final was stronger than Rio Company with a score of 3:0 (Lotus - 13:3; Icebox - 13:9; Fracture - 13:6).
The tournament for the future winner began with an excellent performance in the group stage, during which Dplus won five victories and also suffered two defeats from Nongshim RedForce (0:2) and Rio Company (0:2).
Having made it to the playoffs, the South Korean team immediately lost to Rio Company (1:2), which is why they fell into the lower bracket. However, here the team managed to pull together to beat Nongshim RedForce (2:0), Shadow Corporation (2:0) and Maru Gaming (3:2) in a row, and then make it to the grand final.
In the final match of the competition, Dplus managed to take revenge on Rio Company (3:0) to become the winner of VALORANT Challengers 2023: Korea Split 1 and get closer to reaching the regional Ascension.
