Now B8 Esports and Aim.Attack will be forced to start the second stage of selection through open qualifiers.
On the first game day of VCT 2022: CIS Stage 1 Challengers - Closed Qualifier 1 quarter-final meetings took place, following which One Breath Gaming, Natus Vincere, 5MOKES and KPI Gaming outplayed B8 Esports (2:1), SMARACIS Esports (2:0), Aim.Attack (2:0) and FunPlus Phoenix (2:0) respectively.
Already at the start of the second gaming day, B8 Esports and Aim.Attack predetermined their fate in the closed qualifiers, losing to SMARACIS Esports (1:2) and FunPlus Phoenix (0:2), respectively, thus leaving the championship.
At the same time, Natus Vincere and KPI Gaming coped with One Breath Gaming (2:0) and 5MOKES (2:0), respectively, thus making it to the finals of the upper bracket. In the face-to-face fight, "Born to Win" proved to be stronger than KPI Gaming with a score of 2:1, thanks to which they reached the grand final of VCT 2022: CIS Stage 1 Challengers - Closed Qualifier 1.
In the lower bracket, 5MOKES and FunPlus Phoenix coped with SMARACIS Esports (2:0) and One Breath Gaming (2:0), thus paving their way to the third qualifying round. Now the teams will meet each other to compete for the right to reach the finals of the lower bracket, where KPI Gaming is already waiting for the winner.
SMARACIS Esports and One Breath Gaming will clash in the match for the 5th place. The winner of this meeting will receive a ticket to the second closed qualifier for VCT 2022: CIS Stage 1 Challengers, which will be held from January 20 to 22.
