Ground Zero Gaming becomes RLCS Champion 2022-23 - Winter: Oceania Regional 2 - Winter Cup

RLCS 2022-23 - Winter: Oceania Regional 2 - Winter Cup has ended. As part of the competition, which was held online from February 17 to 19, sixteen teams from Oceania fought for a total prize pool of $30,000, as well as rating points. The winner of the tournament was the team Ground Zero Gaming , which in a tense grand final was stronger than Pioneers with a score of 4:3.

The championship for the future winner began with the group stage, during which Ground Zero Gaming outplayed Wallahi (3:0) and Bandits ESC (3:1), but also lost to the him police (2:3). As a result, the Australian team took second place in Group C and made it to the first round of the playoffs.

However, in the decisive stage, the team turned on at full capacity in order to beat The Sperkys (3:2), Merge Esports (4:0), Tsurani (4:3) and Pioneers (4:3) in a row, and at the same time become the winner of RLCS 2022-23 - Winter: Oceania Regional 2 - Winter Cup.

With this victory, Ground Zero Gaming consolidated their leading position in the regional Winter Split table, effectively guaranteeing a place in the Rocket League Championship Series 2022-23 - Winter Split Major. Now it is enough for the Australian team to reach the playoffs of the third event to officially qualify for the major in San Diego.
