/The RLCS 2021-22 - Spring: Sub-Saharan Africa Regional Event 1 has come to an end. At the event, which was held online from May 6 to 8, sixteen teams from Africa competed for a prize pool of $15,000, as well as rating points needed for qualifications for the Rocket League Championship Series 2021-22 - Spring Split Major. The championship was won by the Orlando Pirates Exdee team, which beat Bravado Gaming 4:3 in a tense final.
During the tournament, Orlando Pirates Exdee defeated High Born Killers, Team Espionage (3:1), Digital Devils (4:1) and Bravado Gaming (4:3), making it to the grand final. In the final match of the tournament, the South African team again proved to be stronger than Bravado Gaming (4:3), thus earning $4,500 and 401 points.
With this victory, Orlando Pirates Exdee took the lead in the regional table, getting closer to a trip to the Rocket League Championship Series 2021-22 - Spring Split Major.
