Match Prediction: Royal Never Give Up - EDward Gaming | LoL
LPL Spring 2024 - Group StageWelcome to EGamersWorld.
The first game day of LPL Spring 2024 is reaching its conclusion. This is China's scheme: they play two matches a day, which, by the way, seems like a pretty sensible idea.
In the second and last match of the first day we will see a clash between Ninjas in Pyjamas and EDward Gaming. The match, by the way, is quite The International interesting, you should not miss it.
We will try to figure out which of the "strong" mid-table players of LPL Spring 2024 will get the first victory in the spring split, and who will have to start their long journey with a defeat.
Let's go.
EDward Gaming's form
In 2021, EDG triumphed at Worlds 2021, etching their name in the annals of history as the best team in the world. Then something went wrong and EDG started to lose strength, but not critically.
In 2022 EDG again made their way to Worlds, but managed to be ranked "only" in the top 8. For some people this is a strong indicator, but not for EDG.
The last result of EDG was the top 3 at LPL Spring 2023. Then it was not enough to win one series to qualify for the Mid-Season Invitational 2023.
- EDG roster: Ale, Jiejie, Fisher, Leave, Vampire.
At LPL Summer 2023, the team played within their capabilities. First, in the group stage, they finished in the top 8, which was enough to qualify for the play-offs. In the main stage, EDG first beat Team WE 3-1, and then beat OMG, beating the notorious team of that summer 3-2. Only TES were able to overcome EDG's pressure, winning 3-2 in the quarter-finals.
Before Long Corner at LPL Spring 2024, the team played in a number of third-party TIR-2 championships. This was the Esports Shanghai Masters 2023, where EDG defeated Gen.G in the grand final (but they played academic squads, which is not surprising).
EDG later played at NEST 2023. There the successes were much more modest: EDG did not make it out of the group stage, while playing it with a score of 3-0 (they withdrew from the tournament).
The last tournament before LPL Spring 2024 for EDG was the Demacia Cup 2023. There, the once super titular team of China and the world grazed the back of the pack: they lost all matches in the group stage and left the championship on top-17-20.
EDward Gaming's most popular champions
Edward Gaming has a very extensive pool of champions in the top line. Fiora, Sion, Kenen and Renekton appeared 3 times each, of which the first two won 2 matches each, but Kenen and Renekton took all their games. Jayce, KSante, Camile, Jax and Gnar appeared 2 times each (Jax won both matches, the others 1-1).
Things are much less varied in the forest by meta dictation. The most pickable character is Maokai (7 games, 100% wins). Next are Vi (5 games, 80% wins) and Sejuani and Wukong (4 games each, 50% wins).
The centre line doesn't shine with variety either. The same popular Azir (6 games, 50% wins), Jayce (6 games, 83% wins), Akali (5 games, 80% wins).
In bot - Zeri (7 matches, 100% wins), Lucian (4 matches, 50% wins), Caitlyn (100% wins in 3 matches), Jhin (3 games, 66% wins).
The situation is as follows: Nami, Ashe, Yummi have 4 games each with 2 wins for the first, 3 for the second and perfect winrate for the third. Next are Heim (3 games, 66% wins) and Annie (3 games, 100% wins).
Form Ninjas in Pyjamas
We continue the match analysis with an analysis of NiP's playing form. Here the Ninjas in Pyjamas will play as number two, with odds to win at around 1.9.
The first tournament for the "ninjas" was LPL Spring 2023. There NiP took the top-13, which is not a terrible result for the debut.
- NiP roster: shanji, Aki, Rookie, Photic, Zhuo.
After the Top 13 at LPL Spring 2023, Ninjas in Pyjamas resorted to stand-ins. They affected both the management and the playing staff. The changes were clearly beneficial, because in the summer split NiP looked fresh and deservedly passed in the play-offs LPL Summer 2023. In the group stage, NiP finished in the top 10 and made it to the play-offs, where they even managed to get through the first round and ended up in the top 8.
In between LPL Summer 2023 and Demacia Cup 2023, NiP visited NEST 2023. They didn't play seriously there and made it to the top 8.
At Demacia Cup 2023 NiP look quite good. They confidently passed the group stage, winning all their matches.
NiP continued to show class in the play-offs. The first match of the main stage was against the vice-champions of Worlds 2023 Weibo Gaming. And not just played, but won - in a serious fight (3-2). But they were not enough for more. In the semi-finals of Demacia Cup 2023 were Bilibili Gaming and the match ended not in favour of NiP with a score of 3-0.
The most popular champions of Ninjas in Pyjamas
NiP's top line is taken by Jax (3 matches, 33% wins), Gwen (2 matches, 50% wins), Gangplank (2 matches, 50% wins), Jayce (2 games, 50% wins).
In the woods, Maokai (7 matches, 42% wins), Sejuani (4 games, 25% wins), Vi (3 games, 66% wins) were permanent.
The centre line was most often occupied by Sylas (5 matches, 40% wins), Ryze (3 games, 100% wins), Akali (2 games, 0 wins).
Zeri and Sivir peaked equally often on the shooter position. Both heroes appeared 4 times, but the former won all his games, and the latter - none.
Ashe appeared most often amongst the Sprogs. Archer was chosen 5 times and won 2 matches. Yuumi (4 matches, 75% wins), Heimerdinger (4 matches, 25% wins) were also frequently played.
History of head-to-head meetings
Previously, the teams have played each other in the course of the regional LPL league. For 2023 have played two matches, so far a draw. EDG won at LPL Spring, and at LPL Summer 2023, Ninjas in Pyjamas were victorious.
EDward Gaming vs Ninjas In Pyjamas predicted result at LPL Spring 2024
A close game is definitely worth waiting for in this matchup. Both teams gained momentum last season, when they looked very good at LPL Summer 2023, and also trained hard when they played at third-party championships. When it comes to the winner, I think Ninjas in Pyjamas look more favourable, but I'm still leaning towards the +2.5 total bet.
Bottom line: total +2.5.
