Welcome to EGamersWorld.
We continue to watch the LEC Spring 2025 regular season. As the regular season (aka group stage) comes to an end, the last week of games is coming to a close.
In the last match we will see a match between Rogue and KOI. The format of the match is Bo3, and at stake are important points needed to advance to the play-offs.
We are trying to figure out who from the pair KOI - Rogue will be stronger and earn important points on the eve of Long Sognega play-offs tournament.
Let's go.
KOI uniforms
We open the KOI vs Rogue match with an analysis of KOI's form. In this match they are playing as favourites with odds to win at around 1.1.
KOI has been "inside" the LEC ecosystem for a long time and have been in and out of the main tournament, i.e. LEC. So, for example, last season KOI was actually MAD Lions. If we talk about KOI as a separate organisation, then everything is quite modest there.
- KOI roster: Myrwyn, Elyoya, Jojopyun, Supa, Alvaro.
In the 2023 season, KOI participated in the LEC. They didn't have much success. After a top performance at LEC Winter 2023, where KOI finished top 3, they were top 6 and top 8 at LEC Spring 2023 and LEC Summer 2023 respectively. However, KOI's roster is pretty fighting, as the core of MAD Lions remained, and they used to be a pretty strong competitor for G2 and Fnatic level tops.
After "comeback" on the big stage of League of Legends, KOI showed themselves perfectly in the group stage of LEC Winter 2025. The team won it 6-3, sharing the position with G2 and Karmine Corp. Once in the LEC Winter 2025 play-offs, KOI beat BDS 2-0, but then Ledge and Karmine Corp 2-0. In the bottom set of the main stage, they beat GiantX 0-2. Then beat GiantX, but lost to Fnatic in the following match, making the LEC Winter 2025 top 4.
Through 6 weeks of LEC Spring 2025, the team has managed to earn a trip to the playoffs. As of 7 weeks of Regular Stage, they are in the top 3 with a score of 5-3.
Most Popular KOI Champions
Fiora (2 matches, 100% wins) and K'Sante (2 matches, 50% wins) have appeared in the top for MAD Lions more often than anyone else. Renekton (1 game, 100% wins) and Gnar (1 game and that defeat) were also taken.
Sejuani (3 matches, 66% wins) is popular in the forest. Next is Wukong with 2 appearances and 50% wins, and there was also Maokai who won his only match.
On the centre line, Viktor (1-1) and Akali (1-1) have 2 matches each. Azir and Sylas won their matches.
Among shooters Varus appeared most often (3 matches, 66% of wins). Lucian was picked 2 times (1-1) and Sivir was picked once more (1-0).
Thresh (1-1), Lulu (1-1) were picked more often than others. Nami and Ashe, who appeared 1 time each, won all matches.
Rogue Form
We continue our breakdown of the Rogue vs KOI match with an analysis of Rogue's match form. In this match they are playing as an outsider with odds to win at around 7.
Rogue missed the whole of 2023 and only returned to the competitive League of Legends in the run-up to 2024. This was a logical decision, as Rogue had a strong showing in 2022, but something went wrong.
First, they proved themselves at LEC Spring 2022, reaching the grand finals of the Spring Split. Then G2 stepped in and prevented Rogue from ending the season with a triumph.
However, fortune proved favourable in the next European league. At LEC Summer 2022, Rogue finished top 3 in the group stage, and then played a pretty tough play-offs: a 3-2 win over MAD Lions, a 0-3 loss to G2, a small final win over Fnatic, and finally an undisputed championship with a 3-0 win over G2.
Rogue visited Worlds 2022 in October the season before last. They had low expectations, but Rogue exceeded many people's expectations by making it to the play-offs. At the end of the tournament, the team finished in the top 8, which is an absolute success for the residents of Europe.
- Rogue line-up: Adam, Malrang, Larssen, Patrix, Execute.
In the new season the core of Koi plays for Rogue, which is quite logical, because the club absorbed the slot of the Spanish organisation.
In the first match, Rogue will meet SK Gaming. I expect a win in the first match for the "new" team within the LEC. Next - the game against Heretics and here it will not be easier than in the match with SK: "Heretics" look good, and their roster is probably one of the most combative in the new LEC. In the end Rogue Ledge and Heretics beat G2 Esports, who are considered to be the main favourites for the tournament, but then lost to SK Gaming.
The first week Rogue went 1-2, which is not good, but not critical. But things got much worse, which led Rogue to a 2-6 statistic before Long Sogpeg's final match. And they lost that one, thus finishing in the top 9.
LEC Spring 2024 Rogue failed. Just like at LEC Winter 2024, the team did not make it out of the group stage, finishing in the top 9. It was not much better at LEC Summer 2024, where Rogue did not show anything: TOP-10.
Rogue also visited LEC Winter 2025 where they showed a "standard" game for themselves - TOP-10. The play-offs are not much to talk about.
Before the Long Crest of the last week of LEC Spring 2025 Rogue were on the last line of the standings with a score of 2-6, but not having lost all chances to get into the play-offs.
Most Popular Rogue Champions
Ornn (4 matches, 25% wins), Gangplank (4 matches, 100% wins), Gnar (4 games, 50% wins), and Gwen (4 matches, 50% wins) were equally wielding the top.
Wukong (4 matches, 75% wins), Vi (3 games, 33% wins), Trundle (3 matches, 33% wins) played in the forest.
Azir (6 matches, 66% wins), Taliyah (4 games, 25% wins) played on the centre.
ADC position was closed with Kalista (5 matches, 40% of wins), Ezrael (3 matches, 66% of wins), Sivir (3 matches, 66% of wins).
Renata Glasc (3 games, 33% wins), Rakan (3 matches, 100% wins), Nami (2 matches, 100% wins) were selected for the tournament.
KOI - Rogue head-to-head history
KOI have beaten KOI once in the 2025 season.
Predicted result of Rogue vs KOI at LEC Spring 2025
I expect KOI to play with confidence in this match. In my opinion, they should have no problem shutting down Rogue and will improve their seeding in the play-offs.
Bottom line: KOI wins.
