Welcome to EGamersWorld.
We continue to traverse the expanses of the European League of Legends. The regular season battles of LEC Spring 2025 continue in one of the title regions of the competitive league.
10 teams continue to fight for 6 play-offs. Among them are KOI and GiantX, whose face-to-face matchup is of great importance to each side.
Let's try to see how the match between KOI and GiantX will end.
Let's go.
KOI's Form
Let's open the KOI vs GiantX match with an analysis of KOI's form. In this match they are playing as a favourite with odds to win at around 1.7.
KOI has been "inside" the LEC ecosystem for a long time and have been in and out of the main tournament, i.e. LEC. So, for example, last season KOI was actually MAD Lions. If we talk about KOI as a separate organisation, then everything is quite modest there.
- KOI roster: Myrwyn, Elyoya, Jojopyun, Supa, Alvaro.
In the 2023 season, KOI participated in the LEC. They didn't have much success. After a top performance at LEC Winter 2023, where KOI finished top 3, they were top 6 and top 8 at LEC Spring 2023 and LEC Summer 2023 respectively. However, KOI's roster is pretty fighting, as the core of MAD Lions remained, and they used to be a pretty strong competitor for G2 and Fnatic level tops.
After "comeback" on the big stage of League of Legends, KOI showed themselves perfectly in the group stage of LEC Winter 2025. The team won it 6-3, sharing the position with G2 and Karmine Corp. Once in the LEC Winter 2025 play-offs, KOI beat BDS 2-0, but then Ledge and Karmine Corp 2-0. In the bottom set of the main stage, they beat GiantX 0-2. Then they beat GiantX, but lost to Fnatic in the following match, making LEC Winter 2025 top 4.
KOI are somewhere in the middle at the end of the 4 weeks. KOI has 2 wins and 3 losses.
KOI's most popular champions
Fiora (2 matches, 100% wins) and K'Sante (2 matches, 50% wins) appeared in the top for MAD Lions more often than others. Renekton (1 game, 100% wins) and Gnar (1 game and that defeat) were also taken.
Sejuani (3 matches, 66% wins) is popular in the forest. Next is Wukong with 2 appearances and 50% wins, and there was also Maokai who won his only match.
On the centre line, Viktor (1-1) and Akali (1-1) have 2 matches each. Azir and Sylas won their matches.
Among shooters Varus appeared most often (3 matches, 66% of wins). Lucian was picked 2 times (1-1) and Sivir was picked once more (1-0).
Thresh (1-1), Lulu (1-1) were picked more often than others. Nami and Ashe, who appeared 1 time each, won their matches.
GiantX Form
We continue the GiantX vs KOI match with an analysis of GiantX's form. In this match they are playing the number two with odds to win around 2.5.
The LEC 2024 Winter Split was the debut match for the club, which absorbed the EXCEL slot. Incidentally, GIANTX themselves are the fruit of a merger between British club EXCEL and Spanish club Giants. For the 2025 season, the team procrastinated until the last minute to announce a full squad.
- GiantX roster: Lot, Closer, Jackies, Noah, Jun.
After two crushingly bad splits in the 2023 season, GIANTX changed their forester and replaced Targamas with South Korean legionnaire Peach. The change was a good thing, because there is no other way to explain the miracle-run at LEC Summer 2023.
GIANTX not only finished in the top 3, but also made it to the split grand finals, thus guaranteeing themselves a spot in the LEC Finals. Ledge and Vitality are in the finals, but there is no shame in that, you have to understand.
The achievements of LEC Summer 2023 are at risk of being overturned given the experience of the first match of LEC Finals 2023. In the match against MAD Lions, GIANTX looked more like what we saw during LEC Winter and Spring, but not at the summer split.
In the next match, then EXCEL faced Fnatic. That match was more like something worthwhile and ended in a full-fledged bo5, but in Fnatic's favour. For ex-Excel, LEC Finals 2024 ended with a top-5 finish.
In their first match under the new tag, GIANTX will meet Vitality. I think the Ledge Bees will bee. Next up is The International and the game against BDS. If the French can beat the former, it's hard to believe that they will succeed against BDS.
GiantX barely made it to the play-offs of LEC Winter 2024. They managed to do it only during the last match of the regular season against Rogue. They fell to Vitality in the first round of the main stage, which resulted in a quick 0-2 loss. GIANTX had the same outcome in the lower bracket match, where they fell to MAD Lions, who eventually reached the grand finals.
GiantX finished in 6th place at the LEC Spring 2024 regular season. In the first round of the LEC Spring 2024 Playoffs they played against Fnatic. There everything ended on two maps. And then there was a fight with Mad Lions in the lower grid and lost with the score 1-2.
At LEC Summer 2024 Playoffs GiantX made it to the LEC Summer 2024 Playoffs from the 7th place with the score 3-6. In the first game of the LEC Summer 2024 Playoffs GiantX played against Fnatic, taking the card. The good play from GiantX continued into the next round of playoffs, where the club played against Team Heretics and won 2-1. However, the performance at the LEC Summer 2024 Playoffs ended at the match against BDS, where GiantX Ledgeili won 1-2, thus finishing in the LEC Summer 2024 top 6. Next up was the LEC Finals 2024, where they finished in the Top 6.
The group stage of LEC Winter 2025 ended with GiantX in 6th place with a score of 5-4. Pretty good considering GiantX's overall playing form in the 2025 season. The LEC Winter 2025 Long playoffs started with a match against G2 Esports, where GiantX tried, but failed to show anything: 0-2 and went to the bottom of the grid. There they beat Heretics, but already in the next round they lost to KOI and left the championship on TOP-5-6.
At the end of 4 weeks of LEC Spring 2025, GiantX are on the last line of the standings with a score of 1-4.
Most Popular GIANTX Champions
On the top line the most frequent picks are KSante (4 matches, 50% wins), Gnar (3 matches, 100% wins).
Foresters picks are Wukong (4 matches, 50% wins), Vi (2 matches, 50% wins), Nocturne (2 matches, 50% wins), Viego (2 matches, 0% wins).
On the centre line Gragas (4 matches, 50% wins), Annie (4 matches, 50% wins).
Aphelios (6 matches, 33% wins), Jinx (3 matches, 66% wins), Zeri (2 matches, 100% wins).
The other stable players are Lulu (3 matches, 66% wins), Rakan (3 games, 0% wins), Nautilus (2 matches, 50% wins).
History of head-to-head meetings between GiantX and KOI
Previously the teams have played each other twice. KOI won both matches.
Predicted result of KOI vs GiantX at LEC Spring 2025
I'm expecting a solid win for KOI in this one. GiantX's performance over the 4 weeks of LEC Spring 2025, I don't see where GiantX will beat KOI.
Bottom line: a 2-0 KOI win.
