Today, the 5th of October, is a very special day at LoL World Championship 2024. Today the first two participants of the play-offs will be determined. Among the contenders are DPlus KIA and LNG Esports.
We are trying to find out who of the pair DPlus KIA - LNG Esports will be stronger and will pass to the next stage, and who will continue to fight for the top 8 in the 2-1 basket.
Let's go.
LNG Esports uniforms
We open the breakdown of the LNG Esports vs DPlus KIA match with an analysis of LNG Esports' playing form. They will play in this match as favourites with odds to win around 1.5.
In 2022, LNG began their climb to the top of the Chinese League of Legends. They finished Top 6 at LPL Spring 2022, but fared better: in the summer split, LNG Esports finished Top 4 at LPL Summer 2023.
They also played at the regional finals in an attempt to qualify for the Worlds 2022, but had no luck. LNG Esports finished in the top 3.
At LPL Spring 2023, after a good group stage, the team finished in the top 6. Not to say bad, but not very good either.
- LNG Esports lineup: Zika, Weiwei, Scout, Gala, Mark.
LNG maintained their class at LPL Summer 2023. The team played a 12-5 regular season, which allowed them to finish in the top 4 and directly advance to the quarterfinals of the tournament.
The first play-offs opponent for LNG was Top Esports. The match ended on map 5 with a 3-2 victory for LNG.
They got here after defeat from the champions of LPL Spring 2023, and at the same time Mid-Season Invitational 2023 - JD Gaming. And defeat in a fairly even game, which ended with 5 maps.
In the next series LNG Esports met with TES. In the match for the exit to the top 3, the once titled club was unable to do anything against the obviously charged in the summer split LNG. As a result, the latter won 3-1.
Next up was the match to advance to the grand finals and a battle with Bilibili Gaming. Finalists LPL Spring 2023 and MSI 2023 could not oppose their colleagues and as a result Ledgeili with the score 1-3.
Having reached the Grand Final of LPL Summer 2023 LNG had every chance to defeat the armoured train called JD Gaming and almost took advantage of them - they lacked one map. LPL Summer 2023 Grand Final ended with the score 3-2 in favour of JDG.
LNG Esports started their performance at Worlds 2023 with a match against Fnatic. Scout literally single-handedly swatted the Orange on their Azir, defeating their opponents on mid with a score of 11-0.
In the second match of Worlds 2023 LNG again faced the representatives of the Western World of League of Legends: this time the number two team from North America, Cloud9. Once again LNG defeated their counterparts on class, although C9 held their own and managed to impose Long Sogpega on the match, but lost in a brawl on the centre line after a Baron takedown.
LNG Esports lost to JDG in the match to advance to the Worlds 2023 play-offs. However, they managed to advance to the main stage at the second attempt, beating KT Rolster 2-1.
However, it was not possible to stay in the play-offs for long. In the first match LNG met with their principal rival from JD Gaming and lost 0-3.
Before the start of LPL Spring 2024 LNG Esports tested their strength at Demacia Cup 2023. There the team played in the first round of play-offs, where they received an invitation, but lost in the first round against Rare Atom, which was a kind of sensation. However, Demacia Cup has never been a tournament of LPL level, and at LPL Spring 2024 LNG took the top 6, which is a bit "not suitable" for the status of LNG.
At the LPL Summer 2024 LNG Long Co-registered from Group C, where they faced big problems, but still made it to the next stage with a score of 3-3. They got back on the Rumble Stage, where they shared the top 1 with Bilibili Gaming, thus guaranteeing themselves the top 4 right away. However, in the first match of play-offs LPL Summer 2024 LNG ran into TOP Esports and, Ledgeiv with the score 0-3, fell to the bottom net. There they couldn't cope with WBG, losing 2-3 and leaving the tournament in 4th position.
At the Worlds 2024 they got to the LPL Regional Finals 2024 at the first attempt, beating WBG. Long Sogpegovar started the Worlds with a solid win over Liquid. Next up was a tough match against LPL's top team, Bilibili Gaming, and LNG managed to pull out a willful victory, thus making it to the basket 2-0.

Form DPlus KIA
We continue the analysis of the match DPlus KIA vs LNG Esports with the analysis of DPlus KIA's form. In this match they play as the number two with the odds of winning around 2.3.
In the season before last, Dplus were still DAMWON, but it does not change the essence of the matter. Back then, Korea's top team finished top 3 at LCK Spring 2022 and top 4 at LCK Summer 2022.
Thanks to a win at LCK Regional Finals 2022, the team went to Worls 2022. The World Championships ended with a play-offs loss in a colourful match against Gen.G with a score of 2-3.
After rebranding, Dplus put together a new roster. There was an attempt to make some sort of "super" team, but that story doesn't work too well in LCK.
- Dplus roster: Kingen, Lucid, ShowMaker, Aiming, Kellin.
Reigning world champion Deft didn't help Dplus much at the first tournament after the rebranding. At LCK Spring 2023, Dplus finished in the top 5, which is not good.
At LCK Summer 2023, Dplus made it to the play-offs in 4th place, 11-7. That's better than T1.
However, LCK Summer 2023 Dplus KIA did not stay in the play-offs for long. In the first round of LCK Summer 2023 Playoffs Dplus Ledge and T1 with the score 1-3, early leaving the main stage of the prestigious championship.
The team made it to Worlds 2023 thanks to a second place finish at the South Korean regional finals. To do so, they first outplayed DRX (3-0) and then HLE (3-1).
Dplus opened up Worlds 2023 with a match against G2 Esports. The titular Koreans were weaker than the best team in Europe and went into the set 0-1.
There, Dplus played their fellow countrymen from KT Rolster. And again Worlds 2022 champion Deft and their distinguished colleagues lost: now Dplus had 0-2.
After falling into the relegation zone, Dplus finally got their act together and showed their game. They knocked BDS out of the tournament and now continue the arduous march to the play-offs. They later outplayed GAM Esports and came out on top 2-2, but in the final match Ledge or KT Rolster, thus forfeiting their chance at the play-offs.
After a slightly dismal Worlds 2024, DPlus KIA took the top 5, closing out the LCK Spring 2024 regular season with a score of 9-9.
In the first play-offs match, DPlus pulled off a mini-sensation. They defeated their more title contender KT Rolster in a very difficult bo5. Next was a match against Gen.G, which Dplus almost won, but still fell short on the fifth map and as a result lost 2-3. Dplus KIA finished in the top 4, which is pretty good.
In play-offs LCK Summer 2024 DPlus KIA went through quite confidently, having played the main season with the score 13-5. In their debut match at the LCK Summer 2024 Playoffs, they defeated FearX 3-1. However, defeating Gen.G in the next match was an all-star task, and it proved impossible for DPlus KIA. Next up was a loss to T1 and a final top 4 finish.
After a not so successful LCK Summer 2024, DPlus KIA played at LCK Regional Finals 2024, where they made it to Worlds 2024 on their first attempt, beating T1.
They started off Worlds 2024 with a solid win over Fnatic. Next, an equally confident win against FlyQuest and a 2-0 basket.
DPlus' most popular champions
On the top line the team picks KSante (4 matches, 50% wins), Renekton (3 games, 33% wins), Gnar (3 matches, 66% wins).
In the forest all the same, more or less standard: VI (7 games, 57% wins), Maokai (3 games, 66% wins), Poppy and Sejuani 2 matches and 0 wins each.
On the centre line with no deviations. There are Azir (4 matches, 50% wins), Ryze (4 games, 50% wins), Syndra (2 games, 50% wins), Cassiopeia (2 matches, 50% wins).

History of head-to-head meetings LNG Esports - DPlus KIA
The teams have not previously played each other in official matches. This will be the debut face-to-face match between LNG and DPlus on the international stage.
Predicted result of DPlus KIA vs LNG Esports at LoL World Championship 2024
In this match we should expect a high-level League of Legends, which is quite expected at the 2-0 stage. As for the winner, LNG Esports are better suited to this definition, which is hinted at by the bookmakers. And it's all about their games within Worlds 2024, where they managed to outplay Liquid and BLG. It is the win over BLG that makes them the favourite in this match. However, I am not in a hurry to talk about a sure win and I think it will end at 2-1 in favour of LNG.
Bottom line: LNG Esports wins.
