the top-class League of Legends, where a new, already 14th, competition season is in full swing.

It is being prepared together with the matches of LEC Winter 2024 - a winter split of one of the wired leagues in the world of competitive LoL. There are 10 teams competing for the €80,000 prize, a trip to the Mid-Season Invitational 2024 and LEC Finals 2024.

We are now in the regular season stage. This is the period when all teams will be battling each other in a Single Round-Robin tournament with bo1 matches.

We've already talked about the first round matches, and now we move on to the next round. It will be opened by BDS and GIANTX. We will see who will be stronger in this confrontation and get an important victory.

BDS form

Let's open the match with an analysis of BDS' form. In this encounter, the European title club will play as the number one, with odds to win at 1.8.

At LEC Winter 2023 BDS reached the group stage, but quickly fell out of it, taking the last place in their quartet. The result was a top-7 finish.

Next up was LEC Spring 2023 and BDS' moment of glory. Completely unexpectedly, they reached the grand final, but there they lost to MAD Lions, who were on a terrific spree in the spring.

Before LEC Finals 2023 BDS played at LEC Summer 2023. They were one map short of reaching the play-offs. The championship ended on the 5th place.

Thanks to the near top places and TOP 2 at LEC Spring 2023 BDS managed to get to LEC Finals 2023, and also to the top grid, where they got to G2 Esports in the first round. The International didn't end up with anything interesting and G2 had no trouble closing out the match with a 3-1 score.

After the defeat from the main favourite of LEC Finals 2023 - G2 Esports - BDS played against SK Gaming. The German club was unable to give anything to the French and fell with a score of 0-3.

However, BDS' path to the LEC Finals 2023 ended with the game against SK. The team lost to Fnatic 2-3 in the next round of the lower bracket, thus failing to make it into the top 3 of the tournament for direct participation in the main tournament.

BDS have already started Worlds 2023 on a positive note. They ran over Golden Guardians at the Worlds Qualifying Series, thus snatching a slot in the same Play-In.

After a confidence-boosting win over GG at the Worlds Qualifying Series, BDS unexpectedly fell in their first match at Worlds 2023. They lost to No. 2 Vietnam, thus becoming the main losers of the World Championship so far.

They managed to partially rehabilitate themselves in the match against DFM. The Japanese club did not provide proper resistance and BDS closed the series with a very simple 2-0.

In the match for the exit here BDS played against CTBC. The Frenchmen outclassed their opponents, closing the series 2-0.

BDS battled PSG Talon to advance to the group stage. The French were a map away from elimination, but on the third map Adam and his Olaf gave his team a chance to clinch a comeback and BDS took it: a reverse sweep in the group stage match actually allowed BDS to qualify for the group stage.

In the group stage of Worlds 2023, BDS first ran into JD Gaming. Obviously, the first team of the world was not strong enough for the French and they lost without any problems. Next was a match against MAD Lions and again an ironclad defeat. The BDS final at Worlds 2023 was as ignominious as their entire stay at the tournament - they lost 0-2 to Dplus.

BDS will make their LEC Winter 2024 debut against G2 Esports. Strength to them!

GIANTX uniforms

We continue the match analysis with an analysis of GIANTX's form. In this match, the LEC newcomers will play as number two, and the odds for their victory are around 1.9.

GIANTX is the new name for the LEC league. The LEC 2024 Winter Split will be the debut match for the club, which has absorbed the GIANTX slot. Incidentally, GIANTX themselves are the fruit of a merger between British club GIANTX and Spanish club Giants.

GIANTX had a very difficult last season. At LEC Winter 2023, the team completely failed, finishing in the top 10.

The spring split, however, did not show anything new. GIANTX once again failed in the split and once again came in last.

After two disgusting splits, GIANTX changed their forester and replaced Targamas with South Korean legionnaire Peach. The change was a good thing, because there is no other way to explain the miracle-run at LEC Summer 2023.

GIANTX not only finished in the top 3, but also made it to the split grand final, thus guaranteeing themselves a spot in the LEC Finals. Ledge and G2 Esports are in the finals, but there is no shame in that, you have to understand.

The achievements of LEC Summer 2023 are at risk of being reversed given the experience of the first match of LEC Finals 2023. In the match against MAD Lions, GIANTX looked more like what we saw during LEC Winter and Spring, but not at the summer split.

In the next match, then EXCEL faced Fnatic. That match was more like something worthwhile and ended in a full-fledged bo5, but in Fnatic's favour. For ex-Excel, LEC Finals 2024 ended with a top-5 finish.

In their first match under the new tag, GIANTX will face Vitality. I think the Ledge Bees will bee.

I expect a close game in this match, which is hinted at by the bookmakers' odds. It looks quite logical, because BDS, even after attending Worlds 2023, don't look like a team capable of easily beating their smaller LEC rivals. And GIANTX don't look like that either.

However, I'll still believe in a BDS win.
