We continue to review what is happening within the third week of LEC Winter 2023. Next up is the duel between Team Heretics and Excel.

The match is not the highest entertainment, but can give a very solid battle. The point is the location of the teams in the standings.

Team Heretics will come into the fight with a 3-3 statistic. The newcomers of LEC Winter 2023 sit on the 6th line, however, it is too early to talk about a 100% hit in the next round.

For Excel Esports, the fight has even more weight. The team is on the last line of the standings with statistics 1-5. In the event of a loss, Excel risk losing their chance for the next stage of the LEC winter draw.

We are trying to figure out which team will be stronger and earn important points for further participation in the second stage of LEC Winter 2023.

Team Heretics Uniform

Let's start the review of the match with an analysis of the game form of Team Heretics. LEC newcomers are the favorites here.

Bookmakers give odds of around 1.6 for their victory. A very solid rating.

Considering the bo1 format, parity can be noted here. Still, 1.6 in b1 is far from a value that allows us to call the Spaniards a clear winner.

The debut season at LEC Heretics began with a large-scale “rebuild” of the roster. On the 10th of November the organization welcomed 4 new members.

The first nickname that catches the eye is Jankos. The status Pole continues his career outside of G2, where he has spent the last 5 years. As for me, the experience of playing in not the most experienced team will benefit the jungler.

It's also interesting to see Evi in the context of the European League of Legends. The Japanese spent the last season with DetonatioN FocusMe and now he will conquer Europe. So far, so-so, but there is still enough time.

Team Heretics Performance

"Heretics" are "in the middle", to put it bluntly. 6th place makes it possible to go to the next round, and this is already a minimum program.

The first week at the LEC Winter Team Heretics started with two losses and one win. The favorites of the season and the “average” lost, which turned out to be far from the same:

• Beating Astralis 1-0
• Lost to Vitality with a score of 0-1
• Lost to SK with a score of 0-1

The second week brought Team Heretics a mirror result. The team won 2 matches, lost 1:

• Victory over KOI with a score of 1-0
• Lost to G2 Esports 0-1
• 1-0 victory over Fnatic

I would like to note the last series against Fnatic. The Japanese legionnaire Evi was just shining there, dragging a 40-minute game on KSante.

Team Heretics Champions

In the TOP, Heretics has a very funny situation. Evi played 6 matches on KSante and has a 50% win rate.

In the forest, Jankos shows the meta: Wukong (2 matches, 50% wins), Vi and Graves 1 game and 1 win each, but the broken Maokai and Elisa did not bring success and lost their cards.

Azir was most often sent to the mid lane (3 games, 66% of wins). Cassiopeia was also played (1 match, 100% win rate), as well as Kassadin and Viktor, but they didn't win.

The bot is stable: Varus and Lucian have 2 games and 1 win each. There was also Kalista, who lost the match, and Zeri, who won hers.

Of the supports, Nami was chosen most often (2 games, 50% of wins). Karma, Nautilus, Lulu and Braum picked once each, but only Karma and Braum won their series.

Excel Esports form

We continue the review of the match with an analysis of the game form of Excel Esports. They will appear in the status of an outsider in this fight.

Bookies with caution do not believe in the success of Excel. The chance of their victory is estimated by the coefficient in the region of 1.8.

As we have already said in relation to Heretics, 1.8 in such a match is far from an indicator of a clear loss. Another thing is the performance of the team.

COMPOSITION EXCEL

I don’t know how logical it is to link EXCEL failures with their composition, but without this, there’s definitely no way. In the new season, EXCEL, like most teams, came with an updated roster, and a good one, it seems.

It's a pretty good balance of experience and rhythm. Odoamne and Targamas, former members of Rogue and G2 Esports, know exactly how to play League of Legends, but have not yet managed to find the key to a new club.

Probably, EXCEL needs more time to build synergy between performers, but in their case, there is not much time left. The team has 1-5 and this situation needs to be urgently corrected.

EXCEL Performance

Excel has a score of 1-5. They share the last spot with Astralis and are in dire need of points to pass the relegation line and qualify for the next stage of LEC Winter 2023.

The team finished the first week with one and so far the only victory. We got it on the 3rd day of the competition in a match against a worthy opponent:

• Lost to G2 Esports with a score of 0-1
• Lost at KOI with a score of 0-1
• 1-0 victory over BDS

The second week was tense for the Belgians. They played against MAD Lions and Fnatic, and also faced Astralis:

• Lost to MAD Lions 0-1
• Lost to Fnatic 0-1
• Lost to Astralis 0-1

It's really a shame for EXCEL here. It was possible to beat Fnatic, who are not formidable enough after the arrival of Rekkles, and even more so to win against Astralis, but this did not happen.

Excel Champions

EXCEL had rather meta heroes in the top, but a couple of times they tried to use not the most popular champions of the winter draw. Played KSante (2 matches, 0 wins), Renekton (2 matches, 0 wins), Gwen (1 match, 0 wins) and only Jax entered (1 game, 100% wins).

Wukong and Vi picked twice in the forest, both lost their matches. Also the game was lost by Sejuani and won by Maokai.

Full set in the center: Syndra, Ahri, Twisted Fate, Akali, Sylas, Taliyah by match. Only Twisted Fate won from the entire list.

On the arrows, everything is more predictable. Either Varus or Lucian (2 matches each, but only 1 win for Varus), as well as Zeri and Draven (0 wins each with 1 appearance).

The supports were Nami (0% win games), Jhin, Karma, Yummi, Nautilus. Only karma won.

History of personal confrontations

Previously, the teams did not play each other in official meetings with updated rosters. The match at LEC Winter 2023 will be the debut face-to-face confrontation.

The outcome of the fight

In this match, I expect an approximately equal game, although the results of the teams differ greatly. As for me, EXCEL can cling to victory.

In the duel, we definitely won’t see KSante, on which Evi played 6 games, and therefore there is a risk that he will sag, even though he doesn’t have much experience, this can happen when you have only 1 character to play.

In general, I would venture to bet on EXCEL. I believe in Odoamne and the Belgian-French brotherhood.

Outcome: victory for EXCEL.
