Match Prediction: Top Esports - Oh My God | LoL
LPL Spring 2022 - Group Stage (Week 1-5)We continue to analyze the performance of the Celestial Empire teams at the League of Legends spring split. Today, the first of two matches will be a meeting between Oh My God and Top Esports.
On the one hand, we have the OMG team, which many have branded as the dark horse of the LPL Spring 2022, but, apparently, their winning streak is coming to an end.
On the other hand, TES, which showed itself very cool in the splits of the previous season, but in this season it began to lose ground and, after changing the roster, shows not the most comforting results.
Top Esports Uniform
Not the best teamwork, but excellent personal performance.
This is how I would describe the Top Esports team after the previous four matches. It can be seen that the players are really trying, but sometimes the game does not go as steadily as we would like.
For the most part, the “Great Reshuffle” at the end of the year touched Top Esports rather weakly. It might even work for them. After all, only top laners and foresters were added from the newcomers. Among them, it was Zoom and Tian that were announced at the LPL Spring 2022.
Earlier I said that among the newcomers I had no questions only about the decisions, understanding of the game and the personal performance of the team's top laner.
But I didn’t like Tian much in terms of playing at Demacia Cup 2021. So it turns out now that the team can discard cards solely because of the game not on objects. Although this is a mistake not only for the forester, but for team movements in general.
The team as a whole performs well against mid-level teams, but after the last game with Victory Five, which seemed to me to be much weaker than TES, I began to doubt their current strength.
Top Esports roster:
- Zoom is top lane.
- Tian - forest.
- knight - mid lane.
- JackeyLove - bot lane.
- Zhuo - support.
Oh My God shape
Good performance. Understanding your team. Good tactical decisions.
That's how I would have described the Oh My God game in the first week, but now the picture has changed so much. The guys lost twice to pretty strong rosters, which was expected, but to fly away from LGD was too much even for them.
Again, the “great annual reshuffle” did not spare the China region and OMG as well. Apart from Demacia Cup 2021, where some of the teams could only try out their new rosters, this tournament was the first serious test for the new team line-up. They proved to be the best possible image, at the moment.
Earlier I wrote that I see only a good game. I couldn't say more, because in the meetings with ThunderTalk Gaming and Anyone's Legend the players from OMG did not show their limits. And even at the game with Invictus Gaming, we could not see their peak potential, because iG is now literally playing an academic roster.
The stumbling block was Bilibili Gaming, which I mentioned earlier. The first game was taken by OMG, but starting from the second, an experienced opponent adapted to the game and began to catch them on mistakes.
As I thought, this defeat was the first in their black streak and spoiled the morale of the players. The match against EDward Gaming only intensified the effect, so much so that OMG managed to lose against the underdog represented by LGD.
And now there are two options: either they will gather their strength after such a fall into the mud on their face, or it will even more strongly affect their morale in a negative direction.
Oh My God line-up:
- Eric is top lane.
- New - forest.
- Alilie - mid lane.
- Bright - bot lane.
- Sora - support.
Meeting history
For all the time, the teams met each other as many as 10 times, almost all the time within the same LPL. And 9 times out of 10 win the luck of Top Esports, giving up only one meeting in far 2018.
The organizations know each other well, just like the teams. Now these statistics are quite indicative, because there were no global changes in the rosters and the parties know what to expect from each other.
Match result
I was pleasantly surprised by the performance of Oh My God at the beginning of the group stage and even believed in their chances against Bilibili Gaming, which was quite a fair decision. However, based on what we see now, the “victories of courage” are over and an old rival is waiting for them, who has not been beaten for a long time.
Most likely we will see Top Esports win with a score of 2:1. It would be safe to just bet on a TES win.
