The playing form of Gen.G - T1's eternal foe

Opposing T1 on the road to their next championship will be Gen.G. The team will play in underdog status.

The odds of success for Gen.G are estimated at odds in the region of 3. The figure is in line with reality.

In the new season Gen.G play worse than T1 and this is an undeniable fact. The team finished top-2 in the group and lost to T1 in the play-offs.

It should be commended - Gen.G pulled together, passed KT Rolster and will get revenge on T1. For most players, defeating T1 is a major event, as T1 knocked Gen.G out of Worlds 2022 last season.

The final stanet was also crucial for Peyz and Delight. This is the first time they have come this far in their careers and they will probably find it difficult in the grand final, playing against such venerable opponents as Gumayusi and Keria.

Where Gen.G should have no problem is at the draft stage. In the last match, they outlasted KT Rolster quite easily at the heroes' selection stage, allowing them to close out the match relatively easily.

• Jungle: Wukong (5 games, 80% wins).
• Central line: LeBlanc (4 matches, 50% wins).
• Shooter: Xayah (5 games, 60% wins), Aphelios (5 games, 60% wins).
• Support: Rakan (5 games, 60% wins).

LCK don't get into the grand final just like that, which means Gen.G can win. The young performers on the bottom line have shown themselves well over the course of the tournament, and are quite likely, having rolled a conditional Aphelios, capable of outplaying the title contender on pace.

Indirectly on the plus side is Gen.G.'s performance last year. Then they beat T1 in the grand final of the summer split, but this year the situation is the opposite.

The teams have played each other twice in the spring split. T1 outplayed Gen.G in the group stage and then 3-1 in the upper grid play-offs final.

The outcome of the match

In the LCK Spring 2023 grand final, there are reasons to expect a level game, but in reality it should not be. Too big a gap between the teams this season will not allow Gen.G to take revenge for the grudges in the top set finals.
