Match Prediction: Gen.G - T1 | LoL
LCK Summer 2023 - PlayoffsWelcome to EGamersWorld.
The final split of the season and the main tournament of the summer - LCK Summer 2023 - is coming to an end in South Korea. We are left to find the winner between Gen.G and T1.
Another derby of South Korean grands has become a celebration of professional League of Legends in absentia. It's hard to argue that this match is probably the best LoL has to offer in 2023.
Some of the teams will once again lift the LCK Champions trophy over their heads, while others will have to watch from the sidelines. Gen.G are the reigning LCK champions, T1 will try to break their second place curse.
Let's find out how this clash of world grands will end and who will end up the champions of the summer split.
Form Gen.G.
We open our review of the LCK Summer 2023 Grand Final with an analysis of the form of Gen.G, who got here first. They come in as favourites with odds form League of Legends betting sites sites to win at around 1.5.
Challenging Gen.G's advantage is foolish. They are a TIR-S team and they have proven it time and time again, especially during the previous split.
Last year Gen.G finished top 2 at LCK Spring 2022 and won at LCK Summer 2022, and then went to Worlds 2022, where they still lost dramatically in the grand final match. However, this didn't do much to shake their position at the 2023 season's Long Segment.
In 2023, Gen.G won LCK Spring 2023, leaving no chance for T1 in the grand finals. A little less luck at MSI 2023, where Bilibili Gaming sensationally kept the Korean champions out of the finals.
- Gen.G line-up: Doran, Peanut, Chovy, Peyz, Delight .
At LCK Summer 2023, Gen.G made it to the play-offs without much trouble. During the group stage, the titular Koreans gave up only 2 series, eventually finishing in 2nd place in the group stage table with a score of 16-2.
In their first play-offs match for themselves, Gen.G crushed HLE. HLE 3-0 and now Gen.G are ready to advance to the league finals for the second consecutive time.
The Grand Final is a rematch of the playoffs. Last round Gen.G defeated T1 3-2 in a very tough series and I think the final will be the same.

T1 Form.
We continue the match analysis with the analysis of T1 form. In this match the best club of all time is playing the second number with odds to win around 2.3.
T1 are second because they made it to the grand final through sweat, tears and the bottom of the net. Also, Faker and co haven't won a cup in a very long time.
The most popular T1 champions
Fiora (5 games, 60% wins) was the most often sent to the top line. There was also Jax (3 games, 100% wins), Camile (2 matches, 100% wins), Irelia (2 matches, 100% wins).

Last season T1 showed a standard level of play. The team reached the top of the table in all top tournaments, but always lacked something. They won at LCK Spring 2022 and then three consecutive top-2s: MSI, LCK Summer and Worlds 2022.
The curse of Top 2s carried over to the 2023 season as well. At the Long Run of the Year, Faker and company took 2nd place at LCK Spring 2023, and then finished third at MSI 2023.
- T1 line-up: Zeus, Oner, Faker, Gumayusi, Keria.
LCK Summer 2023 was a real challenge for T1. The team made it to the play-offs, but did it with difficulty, taking 5th place in the group stage with the score 9-9.
There were problems for the main protagonist - Faker. The legendary mid laner injured his hand and it obviously affected the overall playing conditions of T1. But now Faker is kind of back on track.
The Faker factor has played out. T1 defeated a serious opponent in the person of Dplus and made their way to the next round, where their opponent will be KT Rolster. The latter, by the way, chose T1 as their opponent.
Next up was no less capable opponent than Dplus. Faker and company played against KT Rolster and won that match with a score of 3-2.
The opponent in the match for the play-offs for T1 was Gen.G. The first tried, and even started the game about 2-1, but it didn't work out: Gen.G camebacked, and Chovy was better than Faker.
In the grand final match T1 almost lost to KT Rolster after an excellent Long Sogpeg 2-0. Saved by Gumayusi, who pulled it off on map 5 with his Xayah.

History of head-to-head meetings T1 - Gen.G
Only in 2023 the teams have played each other 5 times and the stats are absolutely not in favour of T1. Gen.G have won all home series, losing only at MSI 2023.
Predicted result of the LCK Summer 2023 grand final between Gen.G and T1
I continue to believe in Gen.G. I just can't understand why T1 can't win the grand finals, but it's an undeniable fact. Also, they can't beat Gen.G at home no matter how hard they try for it. All in all, Gen.G will defend the title, and we'll be watching the pair at Worlds 2023.
Bottom line: Gen.G wins.
Bookmakers & Statistics
All bookmakers have agreed that Gen.G is the favorite. This can be noticed because odds on them are 1.571. This number in the favor of T1 amounts 2.681. Respectively, the last ones are the underdogs of the upcoming match.
