Andrew G.The teams JDG and Gen.G have successfully completed the group stage of the League of Legends World Championship 2023, securing their spots in the Worlds playoffs with a 3-0 match score.
Team Liquid, including last year's champion Hong "Pyosik" Chang-hyeon, faced elimination in Worlds 2023. They suffered a defeat in their final match against Vietnam's GAM Esports in a Best-of-3 series with a score of 1-2 (0-3 in total matches), resulting in their exit from the tournament. Similarly, the European team Team BDS ended their run in this tournament after losing to Dplus KIA with a score of 0-2 (also 0-3 in total matches).
Now, in the Swiss format of Worlds 2023, 12 teams with match scores of 2-1 and 1-2 are competing. Among them, the European team G2 stands out, as they have a chance to finally make it to the playoffs after a two-year hiatus. To achieve this, they need to defeat the North American champions in LoL, NRG.
The last matches of the group stage of Worlds 2023 will take place from October 26 to October 29.
