Hainan Master Spring Invitational organizers rescheduled tournament due to coronavirus
Ihor MatusRepresentatives of the company that was planning to host the Dota 2 tournament announced on its Weibo account that it would not be able to host the event on the dates on which it was originally planned. Hainan Master Spring Invitational 2020 was supposed to be held from March 3 to 5 in the Chinese city of Haikou.
The winners of the CIS qualifications and the European qualifying round HellRaisers and Aggressive Mode , respectively, were to take part in this championship.
In a statement, the organizers said they were thinking of hosting the Hainan Master Spring Invitational in a safer place, another country, but they did not provide accurate information regarding the tournament.
This DotA tournament was not the first to be canceled or postponed due to an outbreak of coronavirus. Earlier, the Chinese League in LoL , LPL Spring 2020 was postponed, and the Korean League in the same discipline started without a live audience. Blizzard, in turn, canceled all the February and March matches of the Chinese Overwatch League division, and WESG on CS: GO canceled.
