Valve Confirms $1.6M Starting Prize Pool for The International 2025

Valve has officially kicked off the hype for The International 2025 by adding a dedicated in-game tab as part of the latest Dota 2 update. The announcement confirms that the starting prize pool will once again be $1.6 million, maintaining a long-standing tradition for the world’s biggest Dota 2 tournament.

Prize Pool Expected to Grow Over Time

As in previous years, the total prize pool is expected to grow substantially. While Valve hasn't yet revealed the exact method of contribution, most fans anticipate the return of the Compendium, which helped raise the prize pool to $2.7 million in 2024.

Battle Pass Could Make a Comeback

Interestingly, community rumors suggest that Valve may reintroduce the Battle Pass for TI14, a move that could significantly increase player contributions. If true, this would mark a major return to the model that previously fueled record-breaking prize pools in earlier Internationals.
