Refraction Gaming wins Pacific Stars Invitational
/Came to the end of the Pacific Stars Invitational. As part of the championship, which was held online from May 22 to June 14, ten teams from China and Southeast Asia fought for a total prize pool of $20,000. The winner of the tournament was the Refraction Gaming team, which managed to snatch victory from Summit Gaming with a score of 3:2 in a tense grand final.
The tournament for the future winner began with a difficult performance in the group stage, during which Refraction Gaming won only two victories and also lost four meetings.
Nevertheless, the Malaysian team made it to the playoffs, where they beat Neon Esports (2:0), Patriots (2:0), TEAM M11 (2:0) and Cookie (2:1) in turn, making it to the grand final.
The decisive duel began for Refraction Gaming with confident victories on two maps. However, the game changed its character dramatically, as a result of which Summit Gaming managed to level the score and brought the meeting to the fifth map. Here, the Malaysian team managed to outplay their compatriots from Summit Gaming to become the winner of the Pacific Stars Invitational and earn $8,000.
