Valve Announces 2021/22 DPC Cycle 1 Regional Finals Dates
Yuriy SheremetOn January 20, information surfaced on the network that Valve intended to hold regional tournaments instead of the canceled major. On the night of January 22, the information was confirmed and Valve announced the official dates for the championships.
Regional finals will be held from 11 to 20 February. There will be 2 streams of final tournaments in total.
- February 11-13: Western Europe, Southeast Asia and South America.
- February 18-20: China, Eastern Europe, North America.
The new type of tournaments from Valve will be attended by the TOP-4 teams of each region. The distribution of the prize pool and DPC points for each region is as follows:
- 1st place: $50,000 + 250 DPC points;
- 2nd place: $25,000 + 130 DPC points;
- 3rd place: $15,000;
- 4th place: $10,000.
Tournaments within each region will be handled by the tournament operator responsible for the first DPC cycle. After the end of the regional finals in Dota 2, patch 7.31 is expected.
