ESL One Hamburg 2017 becomes the first Minor tournament in this gaming season, so the tournament will capture the maximum of attention. Organizers received a lot of criticism due to a small number of participants, however, a budget had been planned and they didn’t make additional expenses - totally, eight teams will take part in the competition, two of them have received direct invites and the rest of them have been determined with a help of qualifiers in six main regions: CIS, Europe, China, North America, South America and Southeast Asia.
$1,000,000 and 1500 Pro Circuit Points will be up for grabs at the event and you can find out the distribution below:
1st place: $500,000 + 750 Pro Circuit Points
2nd place: $200,000 + 450 Pro Circuit Points
3rd-4th place: $90,000 + 150 Pro Circuit Points
5th-6th place: $40,000
7th-8th place: $20,000
A format of ESL One Hamburg 2017 is similar to PGL Open Bucharest 2017 - the group stage will be run by a GSL system with bo3 matches and two best teams from each group go to the playoffs, where they will see a single-elimination bracket with bo3 matches, including the grand final.
