About the organizer:
The Swedish company DreamHack will be the organizer of the event, it has become widely famous due to the successfully hosted Dota 2 and CS:GO competitions, there were more than 23 MOBA tournaments. The company is famous for its home atmosphere at LAN tournaments - the organizers often give a lot of places for viewers to be able to bring their own computer, a chair and feel all charms of LAN.
The format:
Eight teams will take part in the competition, only two of which have received direct invitations. The rest participants have determined with a help of regional qualifiers in Europe, China, Southeast Asia, CIS, North and South Americas.
At the moment, there is no full information about the system of the tournament, however, a few facts have already been revealed: all matches of the competition will be played till two victories and the grand final will be a match in a bo3 format.
The prize pool:
The event received a “Minor” status, so the prize pool will amount about $300,000 and 300 DPC points that will be distributed in the following way:
1st place: $125,000 + 150 DPC points
2nd place: $70,000 + 90 DPC points
3rd-4th place: $30,000 + 30 DPC points
5th-6th place: $15,000
7th-8th place: $7,500
The venue:
Monster Energy DreamHack Studios was chosen as a venue, it had become traditional for the competitions in DreamHack and DreamLeague series. Besides the scene with a small number of places, various stands with manufacturers of gaming devices will be in the pavilion and a big place will be allocated for viewers that want to bring their own PC.
