We continue to watch what's happening at the first major tournament in 2024. The group stage is heating up at BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2024.

Let's talk about what's happening in Group B, where FaZe Clan and Gamer Legion will play to reach the final of their basket. The match should be very interesting and first of all due to the result of the first meeting of these teams in the debut game at the tournament.

We will see which of the teams will join Liquid in the group and get a chance to qualify for the play-offs, and who will have to finish in the middle of the final table. Let's go.

FaZe Clan uniforms

We open the analysis of the match FaZe Clan - Gamer Legion with the review of FaZe Clan's uniform. Despite the offensive defeat in the first match, they remain the clear favourite of the series, and the odds for their victory are at 1.1.

One of the most stable teams from last season has a pretty extensive record in the first half of the year. However, it is predominantly made up of "near" top results.

From the main achievements - getting into the top three at BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2023 and winning at ESL Pro League Season 17. Also this year FaZe got the award for the 4th season of Intel Grand Slam, enriched by $1,000,000.

Speaking of award tournaments, there was less luck here. Top-12 at IEM Rio 2023, and Top-4 at IEM Dallas 2023. At the only Major e in the season FaZe did not cope with the tension, but made it to TOP-8.

Before the Long Conference IEM Cologne 2023 they attended two tournaments of BLAST series: Spring Final 2023 and Fall Groups 2023. At the Finals they were ranked Top 6, and at the Fall Groups 2023 they were in the top three, earning themselves a slot at the Autumn Finals.

Despite the ubiquitous Reshuffle and rather "average" results for the year, FaZe didn't change the main roster. However, there were some substitutions: FaZe presented a new coach, who became the legendary Pole NEO. On his post he replaced the legendary RobbaN and it affected FaZe's gameplay in IEM Cologne 2023, where FaZe took the top-12.

The setbacks continued from there onwards. At Gamers8 2023 FaZe Clan took a similar place (9-12), Ledgeiv at the Long Segment of the Vp tournament with the score 2-0.

Things didn't go too well at ESL Pro League Season 18. FaZe made it to the play-offs on the top grid of Group C, defeating 9Z Team and Fnatic, but in the match for seeding in the main stage they lost to NaVi with the score 0-2. However, FaZe didn't manage to play long at ESL Pro League Season 18: in the first play-offs match, which for FaZe started from the second stage, the team met MOUZ. The future EPL champions sent FaZe Clan home. As a result FaZe found themselves on the 9-12th place of the top tournament.

FaZe rehabilitated quite quickly. Already at IEM Sydney 2023 they triumphed with the victory over CoL in the grand final.

Thunderpick World Championship 2023 FaZe Clan have a great time. The titular European club passed the group stage without problems becoming the best team of the quartet B, and then took part in the play-offs of the championship.

The first opponent for FaZe in the play-offs of Thunderpick World Championship 2023 was MOUZ. A serious opponent, but FaZe did well: 2-1 in favour of the champions of IEM Sydney 2023.

Later MOUZ played against C9 in the match for the final of the tournament and won. They finished what they started with a match against Vp in the grand finals of Thunderpick World Championship 2023, becoming the champion of the $500,000 online tournament.

At CS Asia Championship 2023 FaZe confidently made their way to the play-offs through Group B. Having taken unquestionable TOP-1 the team went directly to the semi-finals of the tournament. FaZe then went head-to-head: first they defeated ENCE 2-1 and in the grand final they defeated MOUZ 2-0.

The last tournament before the BLAST Premier: World FInals 2023 was the BLAST Premier: Fall Final 2023. There FaZe took the top 2, Ledgeiv in the Vitality Grand Final.

At BLAST Premier: Fall Final 2023 FaZe, playing with substitutes, managed to take the top 1 in their group. They took turns beating Heroic and then G2. At this rate they reached the grand final, but there Ledge or Vitality. Almost identical outcome was also at BLAST Premier: World Final 2023, where FaZe again lost to Vitality in the grand final.

BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2024 started off on a Mignon note. FaZe Ledge stomped GamerLegion 0-2, but then regrouped and stomped Spirit in the bottom set, closing out the meeting with a 2-0 score.

FaZe Clan Mapple

FaZe's best team was Mirage. They played 12 matches and won 9 of them.

Next were Overpass with 8 matches and 5 wins. They play Nuke (7 matches, 4 wins), Inferno (9 matches, 5 wins). Worse is Ancient with 3 wins in 6 matches, and worst of all was Anubis. His FaZe was picked 7 times, but played with a winrate of 42%.

GamerLegion Form

We continue the match analysis with the analysis of GamerLegion's form. In this match they will play as an outsider, with odds to win at around 4.

After the triumphant Paris Major a, GamerLegion have lost in terms of performance. However, they are not weak, otherwise they would look much worse at major tournaments than they do now.

In 2023, GamerLegion didn't show much promise. They played well at local events like Thunderpick Bitcoin Series #2 where they won, CCT West Europe Series #1 where they finished top 2, RES Western European Masters: Spring 2023 where they finished top 2 again.

There was also TOP-1 at Elisa Invitational Winter 2023, but the main achievement happened in May this year. It was then that GamerLegion defied logic and made it to the grand final of BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023, where they defeated the hosts of the tournament - Vitality.

• GamerLegion lineup: acoR, Snax, Keoz, isak, volt.

After a great injury in Paris, GamerLegion lost two of their headliners - siuhy and iM. Newcomers neaLaN and volt are not yet reaching the level of Top 2 Major a, and their KDs are eloquent: 0.64 for the former and 0.78 for the latter.

The first match at IEM Cologne 2023 was against Monte. The Ukrainian club was head to head and shut down their vis-a-vis with a score of 2-0 (16-8 Mirage, 16-11 Overpass).

GamerLegion managed to switch on at the last moment. In the match against TheMongolZ, on the first map GL Ledge were 8-16 up on Mirage, but cameback Inferno (16-8), and closed the series on the dopes with Overpass (19-15).

The International was even more interesting against fnatic. On the first map Vertigo GL lost with the score 5-16, but on Inferno GamerLegion played 16-12, and on Ancient they closed the dopes with the score 19-17.

As a result, IEM Cologne 2023 ended with GL in 8th place. They were knocked out by Cloud9, but the result is a good one considering the lineup change.

At Gamers8 Long Sogpeg were matched against Apeks, the other opener of the Paris Major. Both maps gave GL a serious headache, but after dopes on Mirage and a close fight on Overpass GL made it to the next round. However, that's where GL's G8 journey ended at the Top 8, when they lost to Heroic 1-2.

GamerLegion later attended ESL Pro League Season 18 and IEM Sydney 2023. Both tournaments didn't go well: top-20 at EPL, top-8 at IEM Sydney.

ESL Challenger Jonkoping 2023 GL is going pretty well. First Ledge beat MIBR 9-13, and then beat 3DMAX 2-1 in the match for life. With a race left, GL made it to the top 6, but there Ledgeili Vp.

Towards the end of the year Gamer Legion played at Elisa Masters Espoo 2023, where they reached the top 6, BB Dacha (top 8) and ESL Challenger at DreamHack Atlanta. Top 8 there again.

BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2024 started with a blowout win against FaZe Clan. However, the charge was not enough to do the same in the group final against Liquid, where GL Ledge went 0-2.

GL's best map is Overpass. The team there has 6 wins and 2 losses.

There was also Ancient with 2 wins and 1 loss. Still have Mirage in the pool (57% wins in 7 matches).

On Inferno they are 2-2. Nuke has 1 try and a loss.

Not playing on Anubis and Vertigo.

The last time the teams played each other was just the other day, within BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2024. Then GamerLegion won.

As for me, what happened in the opening match of Group B is no more than FaZe's mistake. Even the score on the map shows that FaZe Clan were incredibly close to victory and they will get it already in this match.
