Virtus.pro Will win

Welcome to all esports and Counter-Strike 2 fans! Stage 3 of the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 is heading into the final stretch. Today will decide which teams make it to the playoffs and which ones will be eliminated. Among today's matchups, we highlight the clash between VP and paiN Gaming. While the teams are getting ready, we continue to share our CS2 betting tips and thoughts on this match.

How the bookies view it: VP favorite

Before making a more detailed CS2 betting prediction for the VP vs. paiN match at BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025, let's talk about the favourite of the match. Both teams are not considered favourites in the tournament, but they show a good level of play and can reach the top 8.

Most bookmakers consider Vp to be the favourite, but not by a large margin. However, paiN shouldn't be discounted either, and they have already shown that they can beat strong opponents at this tournament.

Vp form. What result can be expected from Virtus.pro

Our betting tips and CS2 picks for the VP vs. Vitality matchup begin with analyzing Virtus.pro form.

Vp is a well-known team that plays in many qualifiers and tournaments. Since 2023, they have played in three TIR-A tournaments. These were BB Playlist.Urbanistic, BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023: European RMR A, and BB Playlist.Freeddom. At two of BB's "home" championships, Vp made it to the top 8, but at the European RMR, things were even less happy - top 14.

Then Vp made a breakthrough by winning ESL Challenger Katowice 2023. The victory there allowed them to qualify for the ESL Pro League Season 18.

Among the victories, CCT Online Finals #2 is also worth mentioning. They defeated Team Spirit in the grand final and earned $100 000, which is quite good.

Vp roster: FL1T, fame, FL4MUS, electronic, ICY.

Before ESL Pro League S18, VP attended several tournaments but failed to reach high placements. Their opening match in S18 was against Team Liquid, and they won a hard-fought Bo3 series 2-1. They then faced G2 Esports and lost, despite putting up a fight and taking a map. This loss sent them to the lower bracket, where they beat Eternal Fire and once again defeated Liquid to reach the playoffs. However, they were eliminated after a surprising loss to 9z in their first playoff match, finishing 16th overall.

Just before BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2024, VP played and won DreamHack Atlanta’s ESL Challenger, beating Apeks 2-0 in the final. In BLAST Premier Spring Groups, they beat BIG and Cloud9, then defeated BIG again in the group final to qualify for the Spring Final.

At IEM Katowice 2024, VP had a poor showing, finishing in the top 20. At the PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen, they placed top 2 in the European RMR A and qualified for IEM Dallas 2024.

At the Copenhagen Major, VP started in the elimination stage. After an initial loss to Imperial, they beat paiN and Heroic to go 2-1, but then fell to Eternal Fire and G2 Esports, resulting in elimination.

At IEM China 2024, they reached the main stage but again lost to G2, finishing 6th. Following that, they took part in ESL Pro League S19 (top 8), IEM Dallas 2024 (top 12), and BB Dacha (top 6). In BLAST Premier: Spring Finals 2024, VP finished top 3 in Group B, reaching the playoffs and ultimately finishing top 4 after losing to NaVi.

At the Esports World Cup (EWC), VP started strong, beating Complexity Gaming 2-0, then defeating Vitality 2-1 in playoffs before falling to G2 and finishing top 4.

In 2025, they haven’t played many big events yet, but have shown up at top-tier tournaments: IEM Katowice (top 6), PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025 (top 11), BLAST Open Spring and PGL Bucharest (both top 8), IEM Melbourne (top 16), and PGL Astana (top 11). The experience is there, but the results are still inconsistent. However, at BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025, they cruised through Stage 2 with a clean 3-0 record, securing their spot in Stage 3.

At Stage 3, Virtus.pro also started well with victories over MOUZ and Legacy, but then suffered defeats from FURIA and Vitality and ended up in the 2-2 bracket where they will play against paiN for the playoffs.

paiN form. What result can be expected from paiN

We continue our CS2 betting picks with an analysis of paiN Gaming form.

paiN Gaming played a large number of tournaments in 2024, showing promising results along the way.

Their most notable achievement was at PGL Major Copenhagen 2024, where they showcased both skill and resilience, finishing in the top 9-11.

paiN consistently ranks among the top teams in Latin America, often winning B-tier events such as RES Latin American Series #4 and Global Esports Tour Rio de Janeiro 2024, earning $100,000 for the latter.

paiN roster: biguzera, nqz, snow, dav1deuS, dgt

A key milestone was qualifying for IEM Cologne 2024 through regional qualifiers. At the event, they lost their opening match to Liquid (0-2), but bounced back in the lower bracket to defeat fellow Brazilians Imperial (2-1), finishing top 8.

Later, they competed at BLAST Premier: Fall Showdown 2024, securing a now “classic” top-8 finish.

paiN also participated in PW Shanghai Major 2024. In the Opening Stage, they beat Imperial, then lost to GamerLegion but recovered with wins over C9 and FlyQuest. In the Elimination Stage, they fell to MOUZ, Ledgeili, and 3DMax. In a must-win match, they defeated BIG.

On the main stage of the Shanghai Major, paiN went 1-3, ending top 14.

The 2025 season began with BLAST Bounty Season 1, where paiN once again made it through qualifiers by defeating GamerLegion and FaZe. In the playoffs, they faced NaVi and came close to victory, but lost 1-2, finishing top 6—a sign that this team is aiming higher.

At IEM Katowice 2025, they placed top 20, but did much better at PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025: they went 3-1 in the group stage with wins over Astralis, Falcons, and VP, losing only to MongolZ in a tight match. Unfortunately, in the playoffs they fell in the first round to MOUZ and finished top 8.

At ESL Pro League Season 21, they advanced from the group stage with a 3-2 record. In the top 16, they beat GamerLegion but lost to G2 and NaVi, and were later eliminated by Eternal Fire, placing top 14.

After that, paiN played at PGL Bucharest 2025 and IEM Melbourne 2025, finishing top 16 in both events.

At BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025, paiN began in Stage 2, qualifying to Stage 3 with a 3-1 record. They lost their first two matches against tough opponents—Spirit and G2—but bounced back with wins over Nemiga and 3DMAX. Now they are in the 2-2 bracket and will face VP for a spot in the playoffs.

Recent head to head

VP and paiN have faced off six times, with each team winning three matches. Their most recent encounter was at BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 Stage 2, where VP won 2-0. This time, both teams are equally motivated—playoff qualification is on the line.

Players to watch: FL1T and nqz

Predicted result of the match between VP and paiN at BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025

It’s hard to say who will come out on top. While most analysts and bookmakers lean toward VP as the favorite, paiN have proven they won’t go down without a fight. Both teams have the potential to reach the playoffs, but we believe VP has the edge. Fans should expect a tense and exciting battle.

Bottom line: Virtus.pro wins.
